No app store account, no phone number, no payment processor, no company in the middle. Below is exactly how it works, and exactly why it's more private than doing the same thing over WhatsApp, Telegram, or Discord. No marketing fog — just the mechanics.

The platform: Matrix, on hardware we ownEverything happens on Matrix — an open-source, publicly audited messaging protocol. Anyone can run their own Matrix server, and that's exactly what we do. The server is ours alone: our hardware, our rules, no company in the middle, no data mining, no ads, and no third party that ever touches a message.
Federation: OFF. Normal Matrix servers talk to each other. Ours doesn't. It's an island: your account exists only here, your messages never leave this machine for another server, and no outside server can even see that this one has users. There is no directory anywhere that lists you.
Invite-only, zero KYC. No public signup page. Accounts are created by hand for people we choose to invite. We never ask for an email, a phone number, an ID, or a real name — call yourself anything. Nobody can leak or seize what we never collected.
36-hour history wipe. Chat history is wiped from the server on a 36-hour retention timer. Conversations don't pile up on a disk somewhere waiting to become a problem. What's gone is gone.━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Two layers of encryption — one key we deliberately can't useLayer 1 — your chat. Everything happens in your own private room, end-to-end encrypted with Matrix's Olm/Megolm system — the same cryptographic family Signal uses. Messages are encrypted on your device before they're sent, and only the devices in your room can unlock them. The server — even though we own it — stores scrambled ciphertext it cannot read.
Layer 2 — your shipping address. The address you give at checkout gets special treatment on top of that:
- While your order is being placed, it lives only in working memory — never written into any readable database.
- The moment your order finalizes, it's sealed with GPG public-key encryption. The server holds only the locking key. The unlocking key lives offline on an air-gapped machine that never touches the internet. Even someone with full control of the server could not read a single address.
- And per the retention timer above, the chat where you typed it is wiped within 36 hours anyway.

The honest comparisonFair is fair: WhatsApp's message encryption is genuinely strong. The difference is everything around the encryption — who runs the servers, what identity you must hand over, and what metadata piles up. (Accurate to the best of our knowledge as of this writing; all three companies publish these policies themselves.)

How an order actually goesThere's no cart website and no forms — you just talk to our order desk like a person, in your own encrypted room. It walks you through everything.
- Get invited. A member vouches for you or you reach out to us. We hand you an account — no email, no phone, no ID. You log in with Element (free Matrix app, iOS/Android/desktop) and your private room is waiting.
Just talk. Ask anything in plain English — what's currently available, how payment works, timing, whatever you need. No commands to memorize, no forms to fill.
Check out. Say "done", give a shipping name and address (memory-only, then sealed under the offline key — see above), and review the full order before anything is placed. Nothing is owed until you confirm.- ₿ Pay in Bitcoin. You get a fresh, unique payment address — generated for your order, never reused, never linked to anything but the order itself. Send the dollar amount shown; a real person verifies same-day. No cards, no processor, no bank, no name on the money.
Sealed receipt. Your receipt posts in-room, your order record is GPG-sealed, and it joins the ship queue — orders usually go out within 1-3 business days of payment confirming.- Tracked to your door. Flat $20 USPS Priority, typically 4-6 days in transit. Your tracking number posts right in your room, the desk gives you a heads-up when it's about to land, and checks in after — if anything's ever wrong, a real person makes it right.

Shipping, quietly
Plain on the outside. Sturdy, unmarked packaging. No branding on the label, no invoice, and never a price anywhere in or on the box.
Your address, minimized. Used to print one label, sealed under the offline key, wiped from chat within 36 hours. PO Boxes and UPS addresses work fine if you'd rather not use home.━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
What this does NOT do (because honesty is the whole point)- USPS still needs a real, deliverable address to bring you a box. That's physics. (PO Box works.)
- Bitcoin is pseudonymous, not magically anonymous — your wallet hygiene is your own department.
- E2EE protects the wire and the server. Your own unlocked phone is your responsibility — set Element's recovery key and a device lock.
- And yes — you're still trusting us as the counterparty. That's exactly why it's invite-only, why every completed delivery gets announced (anonymously) in the community channel, and why the public room is full of people who can tell you how their orders went. Ask them, not us.
