Im watching the game and I thought yall would find it interesting Eli Lily just ran a commercial with a fat dude saying “my body is my business” and in writing after it said something along the lines of “everybody is focusing on weight, but the focus should be on health” or some shit, they are preemptively marketing reta on the largest stages which to me means they know they are about to get clearance.

You do know Lilly is the producer of Mounjaro/Zepbound, right?

You could be right but also remember the push to produce here in the United States and their push over the last 2 years to simply keep up with market demand. They had to upscale and build facilities all over the world big time.

It is hard for me to watch that commercial and correlate someone talking about health while being that large. Its amazing to me that people that large can even live into their late 30s. That dude probably in his late 20s might be thinking the same thing. Lose weight or die soon.

Agree, the commercial itself was hard for me to watch bc of the messaging itself (not correlating weight with health is absurd and fat positive BS) and just like you said, the dude is already 10 steps away from deaths door . The only reason I drew the conclusion it was a reta marketing pre-push is bc normally the pharm company will mention a medicine and there was no direct mention of either of their other glp meds, but like you said I could be completely off base.

We just went thru that with the whole fat women are sexy BS. Instead of taking responsibility for their health, there was a push for society to accept that fat was somehow attractive. It’s not. We are instinctively repulsed by lard asses because it signals ill health. We are wired to want to mate with attractive people because it’s associated with health which means a higher probability of having healthy offspring.

In business, in my world, it shows a lack of discipline too. Idc what anyone says, you are completely judged in an interview if you are overweight. Especially in businesses where discipline is a key to success. Im in tech/cybersecurity sales and it is not a coincidence that my whole team is fit as shit or minimum, ex college athletes and still active.

A former colleague always used to say “never trust a fat CFO. No discipline.”

Cracked me up as he was a very fit CFO (used to ride together a lot) and it was somewhat self-serving, but prolly true lol
