Same day weight in, in sport with strikes to the head is dangerous.
The goal would b to cut less weight, which would definitely help in the health risk ime & imo.
The. would need to add more weight divisions, which i think needs to b done regardless.

Problem is that ppl will always try to find an “advantage” and cut weight, regardless of when the weight in is or how many weight classes it is. What will happen is more cancelled fights because of not making weight, or more brain damage because fighters didn’t get their weight back before the fight.

One of my most annoying loses is against a guy I should have beat. I used to cut a good amount of weight and with the day before weight in I always got my weight back. But, too close to the fight they announced that weight in was going to be the same day, I made the weight but I didn’t have enough time to get my weight back and got dropped by a shot I should of have been able to take normally.

It seems like it’s mostly fans that have issues with the weight cuts, I never understood why.

I am almost 52 & started combat sports at 8 before mma was cool or even a thing & i respectfully disagree.
But dont care enough (bcs i know it will not change anything) to take 30minutes typing my veiws & reasoning.

I guess you never fought professionally?
But either way you’re right, it won’t change because ppl will cut weight and day before weight in is the safest. As long as fighters make weight I can care less what they weigh normally or what they cut from.

I dont disagree with the fact that its dangerous to fight when u r sickly dehydrated.,,👍
