Crick in the neck?

So I randomly developed a crick in the neck yesterday despite just sitting there working on my computer like a lummox. No weird straining or unusual positions, just good old fashioned sitting on a couch.
Amazingly, it has nearly disappeared after lifting weights tonight — skullcrushers, flies, curls, that kind of thing, but nothing directly neck related.
For those of you with better anatomical knowledge (I remind you I thought the penis was a muscle) I am asking: What is a crick in the neck, technically? I was basically in too much pain to turn my head to the right. And why would lifting weights help it rather than exacerbate it?

So, just a guess. A crick in the neck could be a slight misalignment in a vertebrae? You were doing lifts that required you to get on you back on a bench and might of corrected the misalignment ? I don’t know.

Hmmmmm????
And penis isn't a muscle!?!?!?
Apparently it is penile tissue, which is a whole other thing. I was surprised as well after 45 years of believing it was a muscle. I got to wondering why the gear does not make it grow, turns out it is not muscle!

No I think it was in the muscle itself, like the muscle in the side of the neck. I didn’t feel anything wrong with my spine.
