4 months ago I started having a pain in my groin. It got worse and radiated down my leg. An MRI showed 3 compressed discs. My doc wanted to do a steroid injection but my insurance company said no. They forced me to do PT then a chiropractor. It got worse to where I struggle to walk. Now my latest MRI shows 2 bulging discs in L4, L5. My doc believes this happened due to me favoring my other leg when walking. I cant get a steroid injection until October 16.

My question is, will BPC 157 help at all with my back issues. Hydrocodone and hemp gummies haven't worked. I just need to be able to walk without wanting to cry or looking like Frankenstein's monster.

Any advice is appreciated.

Can’t say on BPC but I’m also curious. I’d personally skip the injections from the doc. It will temporarily mask the pain but accomplish nothing (except repeat monthly business)

Ive done 3 months of PT and 10 chiropractor visits. Neither of these has worked. There are times I can barely walk. Lifting doesn't hurt at all and the doc said I should continue to lift to strengthen my back. But im used to doing an hour plus of cardio per day and I cant do it anymore. Ive gained 10 lbs and my BF is no longer single digits. I really miss my running as it gives me an endorphin rush.

Im looking to try anything at this point.

Peptides are a fairly weak therapy in comparison to Corticosteroids and as @Sirchon said they won’t help a bulging disc. If it were a slight muscle or tendon tear maybe, but not a bulging disk. Your insurance company isn’t doing you any favors but PT is protocol, chiropractor is a waste of time. And don’t listen to the bro doctors here, a shot in the back will help. It will reduce inflammation and possibly give you a chance to heal if your disk bulge is small, say 3-4mm, once you get much above that it’s time for surgery.

not going to fix it by any means but here is my two cents. It most certainly would not hurt to try but do not expect overnight results and remain CONSISTENT for up to three months.

1. BPC 157 (Body Protection Compound 157)

How it works:
BPC 157 is known for its regenerative effects on tendons, ligaments, and soft tissues. It promotes angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels) and speeds up the healing of damaged tissues, possibly including spinal discs.
Potential Benefits for Bulging Discs:
  • Tissue Repair: It may help regenerate and heal damaged disc tissue or reduce inflammation in the surrounding area.
  • Anti-inflammatory: It can reduce inflammation, which is critical in alleviating pressure on the nerves caused by the bulging disc.
Effectiveness:
BPC 157 is potentially very beneficial for someone with a bulging disc due to its broad range of healing capabilities in soft tissues and its anti-inflammatory properties.

2. TB500 (Thymosin Beta-4)

How it works:
TB500 is a synthetic version of a naturally occurring peptide called Thymosin Beta-4. It is known for promoting cell migration, tissue regeneration, and reducing inflammation. It helps with muscle and connective tissue repair and modulates inflammatory responses.
Potential Benefits for Bulging Discs:
  • Regeneration of Soft Tissue: It may aid in repairing damaged soft tissues like the annulus fibrosus (the tough outer layer of spinal discs).
  • Anti-inflammatory: TB500 can reduce inflammation, which can help reduce pain and improve mobility.
Effectiveness:
TB500 can provide benefits, especially in terms of reducing inflammation and helping regenerate the disc's connective tissues. However, it may be more effective for muscle and tendon repair than directly targeting disc regeneration.
