Wife picked me up a bottle.
Been taking 4 1000mg pills 4grams pre wo.workout..
My blood pressure?Top number has increased significantly!!
Been consistent at 111 to 125 top number.since taking the root 135 or higher!!! I've read this supposedly lowers bo,niacin and all?
yet I'm going other direction?this happen to anyone else? I'm just going to discontinue and check my bp say Tuesday see if it goes back to where I was??

Is there anything else in the capsule or just pure beet root? Did you change anything else in your routine lately? I wouldn't expect to see an increase from just taking beet root.

haven't changed anything.
just added the beet root..
I'll look at bottle see if anything else is in it?

Wives are scary sometimes 🤐. Maybe she switched up the contents... You don't watch "wives who kill"?
Toss that in the trash. And get you a new one... The wife that is🤐🤫🤣.

Messing about... But yeah is you mentioned it is in fact supposed to do the opposite, certainly helped me! Dropped my BP greatly. From 130s /72
To low 120s /72.

Diet, training, w/gear = 99.90 of gains. Save money on the .10% you might miss. :)

In all seriousness it should not do that to your blood pressure.
I've cut out all stims,suspension,tne,etc
trt dropped from 200mgs per week
to
137.5
feeling great..
This shit threw me for a loop..
just going to eliminate it
Should be back where I was?
Well see man!?!?!

I've been using beet root powder for a short while now. Mine has gone up as well. Except for the one Godfathers pizza (very rare) last weekend I have a pretty tight diet. Taking bisoprolol/hctz, carditone and the beet root powder. Systolic has been up, diastolic still ok, heart rate up slightly. I read it has a lot of vitamin K that can thicken the blood. Maybe that's it? I'll drop the beet root for a bit like you and see if it helps. Some people have an allergic reaction to it as well? 🤷

Yeah, it was a wild hair last Sunday. Made me lazy though. No time soon again.

Systolic top correct. I take a blood thinner too so the vitamin K part is probably bad. You live and you learn. Been looking at Aldactone to help with blood pressure but still doing a lot of reading on that. It a potassium sparing diuretic. Been researching that and Lasix. Already on low dose hctz so I gotta be careful adding another diuretic. One thing I know would help just gotta do it is more cardio.

You DO NOT want your top number to match the bottom number!!!!!!
Holy fuck, you'll be dead it that happens.
I use Beetroot extract powder and my BP is fine.
Sounds like the stuff dont agree with ya!!!! dump it down the drain.

Most of the studies i see show maybe 2-4 point change in BP with beetroot powder. And for younger people that already make nitric oxide well i doubt it will do as much. Unless one is allergic to beets i can't see it raising pressures.

Lasix is a horrible Drug... There are better diuretics out there....
You fuck up with lasix.... you lock up in a huge cramp and remember your heart is a muscle... dont want that fucker cramping up .... Dont ask me how I know. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Correct me if I'm wrong but if it increases vitamin K to the point that it changes blood thickness it can increase blood pressure so if your count is already up, known or not, it could make a noticeable difference.

Yeah, hctz is directed at internals. Lasix systemic. Aldactone I'm not through researching yet.

I think he meant his BP and mine were reacting the same. Not the systolic and diastolic were the same. Or maybe I misunderstood where you were coming from on that point which would make me a dork. 🤣

I can not say as i have not seen anything about Vit K and beetroot. But many/most veggies have Vit K
Nitric oxide allows blood to flow better as it has effects on the vascular endothelium, which allows blood to flow into tissue. And can help with pumps and lower BP.

" Beetroot juice increases levels of nitric oxide (NO),"

"Basal release of nitric oxide ( NO ) from the vascular endothelium regulates the tone of muscular arteries and resistance vasculature. Effects of NO on muscular arteries could be particularly important during exercise when shear stress may stimulate increased NO synthesis."

Yeah, that's the reason I, and most everyone I know, started taking it. But we know that gear can increase blood volume quite a bit so in my way of thinking the vitamin K, if increased enough might become a viable issue as far as the effects on BP. I know that sounds redundant. I'm sure individual responses will vary and maybe me and @Startingover are unfortunate outliers in this case. Having BP issues to begin with surely won't help that but that's kinda the whole point of using it to start with so I guess that's moot. The beet greens are high in vitamin K but not the rest of the plant. Still have a lot of reading to do. I'll check my beet powder for the greens content. If it's high I'll find another brand and read the label a little closer this time. Hell, it could be as simple as some kind of food allergy? 🤷 I'm thinking of just going back to Nattokinase. Costs more but didn't raise my BP.

I think it's supposed to be more preventative than a fix as well.

My father took meds from his Dr. that caused the blood to not clot i.e. thinned it. but i can't say where i have read that such things lower blood pressure. Thinning the blood refers to less likely hood of clots. which does not equal less pressure
This states Vit K2 has no effect on BP.

weird thing is,I was drinking beet juice awhile back when I was suspension and stim junkie..
And that did help me to lower bp some..
Now since eliminating all that good stuff.
My bp has been tits!!
until this beet root..
Don't make any sense!!?!?
But I will update in few days as I'm done with the root and betting bp will go back to tips again
For the record I'm on no meds.
Wait I'm lying 150 mgs wellbutrin..
stay tuned!!🤟

I'm learning as I go so I'll be wrong a LOT. Just thinking out loud sometimes. Vitamin K does help clotting and changes blood viscosity, read that in pubmed somewhere, and can have an effect on blood pressure as a result but I'm not sure to what degree. As far as the beet root thing I don't know what to make of it. I'll just quit taking it and see what happens. Thanks for your responses. Learning everyday. 👍✌️

Learning and questioning is good. I continue to question things, even my own viewpoint from what i thought i learned in the past so see if it still hold true in the light of the most recent literature. And i have changed my mind multiple times of my life time. Something i learned long ago. I do not read 1 study and think it proves a thing unless possibly it it is a very large double blind placebo controlled study. For the rest i try to read several studies and if 80% of them point the same direction then there might be validity to it. But it also depends who did the study, who funded it and other variables.

I'm dropping everything until after my blood work in April. Well, everything not prescribed. I'll figure it out from there.

Logic being if I can get back to normal I can reintroduce things one at a time and see what happens. Process of elimination.

That aint high... I meen they did change the BP guidelines to 140/70
Dont stress.
Sometimes BP cuffs are not made to fit arm sizes which will throw your numbers off.
Say you have 17"+ arms.... They will put the "Red" cuff on you... the XL cuff.
134/74 your fine!!! :) relax now.... maybe it will drop a point or 2.
