we had one..some petsafe brand. it kept breaking

tore down the actual fence..need to do something until I can get the new fence up (most likely next spring)

thoughts on the wireless e-fences?

I had one years ago and it never kept him in the yard I think they are junk.

yeah I had one that when it worked it worked great.. then heavy rain then snow and the wire kept breaking. total nitemare

I really only need to contain the terrier ..the other two wont leave the yard unless theyre following him

...maybe I'll just my money and put up new fence *sigh*

rocks and a steep slope make the yard a challenge no matter what

I like that it uses a standard 9v instead of weird batteries

the petsafe one had collar specific batteries and it destroyed them

That was a big selling point for me. I keep a costco pack of them in the garage in case I need to do a change. They last for months

My dog when he wanted to leave would just haul ass thru and get shocked go do what ever he did and than would hang out on the other side where he didn't get shocked.

My parents have underground invisible fence. As long as you keep the batteries in the coller fresh and the power doesn't go out its fine. More than once I've had to run around town trying to find the escaped mongrel lol.

Doesn't work for every breed. I have a Pyrenees and he will break through cattle fences that are electric if he wants too.

What kind of dog? How thick is his coat? All make a difference in the type of fence you need

They work great, assuming you don't get the one for dogs. We have 2 German Shephards, we use the one for cows and horses. They don't even go near that shit.

three dogs

pitbull- fence isnt even necessary..she never leaves te deck except to go potty
silky terrier- escape artist extraordinaire and man about town..always comes back after he visits everyone tho :/ except when someone doesn't know him and calls animal control *sigh*
neighbors all know his name and enjoy his company luckily
aussie - follows the silky and this is the big problem..shes a baby and not too bright about the road. she is also really fuckin fast

I have the pet safe invisible fence, has kept my boxer in the yard for the last 6 years.
