I've started working with deserts..
Making reductions with various alcohols..
New take on backed apples..
Haven't try Rum with them, yet..
BUT..
I started tweaking the basic recipe of apples, cinnamon and brown sugar..
I added a shot of French Roaste coffee in my mix..
I can't believe that one shot changed everything..it's there, not overpowering..but a really nice change..
Going to add them to Oatmeal....

I use Myers Dark Rum..with sweet potatoes and my Bananas Foster..

Bourbon in baked apples is great.
 
Before starting my diet I was obsessed with cooking, elaborate dishes fancy techniques making everything from scratch etc. I tried using alcohol several times in various sauces but was always disappointed. Only thing I actually liked was sake in japanesesque dishes.
 
I know Why would come up..
Honestly, we shovel so much food, taste looses it..
Eating tuna out of a can .we've all done it..
BUT..
A great tasting meal is damn near as good as Sex..
I prep most of my meals..
But..
Sit down to a perfectly cooked steak..roasted potatoes and a cob salad..
Beats tuna in a can, everytime.

I don't think Max ever ate anything that wasn't 5 star..

Trying hard to meet our goals.
Eating becomes a pain in the Ass..
So..a nice break from the Norm..
A meal..you don't easily forget..

Or..
I just have too much time on my Hands..lol

Idk man, I was used to eating awesome homemade meals which with my current knowledge had maybe 100g of fat in them and as you know fat=flavor. I used to make homemade philly sandwiches with homemade bread, shaved prime ribeyes, homemade pastrami sandwiches and shit like that.

But nowadays, after a good training I enjoy my refrigerated poached chicken breasts with no crazy sauces or anything. Maybe it's just the glp talking lmao

Sounds delicious! Personally I’ve never been any good at baking. But I do love a good bourbon 🥃 after a great steak

It’s too easy to overdo the alcohol in dishes. It’s definitely a less is more type thing. I make a homemade bbq sauce when I smoke Boston butts and ribs. I add bourbon to it by the teaspoon until I get the right taste. One year at Thanksgiving I made two homemade pumpkin pies. One with bourbon and one without. The one with bourbon was slightly overpowering and I only used a tablespoon.

As taught..start with very little, you can always add..and constantly tasting to get it perfect..
I have a killer Sweet Potato Mash..with Myers Rum..
Years ago I fixed it for my girl's family for Thanksgiving..her brother, that doesn't drink.
Finally asked, what's different about this..after his 3rd help..he doesn't drink..
He was surprised when I told him it was Run..

Yes..it takes a few times to get it right..
But...the Flavors..
Maybe it's just being a little older..enjoying the few things I can..

I've got an Eggplant dish that is complicated and time consuming..
All Fades..once you taste it....

BUT..
I love to eat some great food..
AND..
It's cheaper and you know what's in it..
Than eating Out..

Some dishes..most don't take a lot of Time..
