I'm not going to be able to lift like I want for some time, what are some things to do to not lose to much muscle mass while laid up?

Train your arms and upper body. Then start training your non injured leg.

I think the hard part will be getting the weights to the bench and back without help. I have a decent garage set up at the house I will be able to play with but still somewhat scared of injuring myself and it slows down my rehab.

I have a membership with a gym that's a rehab center as well with plenty of machines I just feel like I've been in the way hobbling around. I think I'm going to try and hire someone to assist me with what I'm trying to accomplish, I just don't want to go broke doing so 😂

You'll be able to hit the machines fairly quickly. You won't be on crutches for that long.

Bro take the time loss "L." It's not worth it. I had the same surgery and it's kinda rough but you're a fucking man so it'll be fine. Work out as hard as you fucking can before the surgery and forget about muscle loss while you need to recover. Your priority is your knee, not your muscle loss.

I've had both knees scoped for the meniscus, I know this will be a little more since they will drill into bones. The last time (2019) I got scoped I ended up putting on 65 lbs and this year I've lost 58 of those lbs and don't want a repeat.

I got ya, didn't mean to go in so hard on ya - was trying to be a bit encouraging actually. I think it's natural to lose a bit of muscle here so just accept that to an extent. But seriously give yourself at least an entire week off. Then just begin to consider some upper body work. Even just doing some ab work and simple things as just flexing your muscles will help. You're gonna be laid up hard for 3 days and after that the process is slow but gradual improvement. I just don't want you to try stuff too early and you hurt yourself.

Oh and 1 more thing, when you wake up from surgery be honest to the anasthesia doctor if you need to get hit with another shot of whatever version of 'caine they use locally. I was like "uhhhh yeah... I think you need to shoot me again with that" and boy was I glad they did.
