So your saying your perfectly fine with non citizens voting to put people in office to potentially make laws that directly effect you that have no rights to be here??

Side note the state government has gotten many things wrong.. look at 2a for instance... States like NY, California, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, Illinois violations of your giving rights...
STFU with your stupid shit. Putting words in my mouth is all you did and it shows how weak you and your opinion is. Read the constitution moron.

Next topic.
Let's talk about Trump's offer to sell weapons to China. This is your guy and you're defending his retarded shit. This is not about me skippy.

gas will probably go up more

One thing I will give Trump credit for: his voters will remain loyal no matter what the consequences economically or anything else.

He allowed a bunch of foreign beef into the U.S. to drive down prices, which is supposed to help consumers but is a huge fuck you to the ranchers who supported him.

Well, ranchers by and large still support him as he damages them financially. I literally think there is nothing Trump can do to lose that loyalty.

Love him or hate him, Trump has the ability to do what no other politician seems able to do: People will keep backing him even if he breaks his promises and works directly against their interests.

It’s almost a magical thing, so I have come to accept that’s just how it’s going to be.

My prediction is he will remain in office for the rest of his life, which could still be a long time. Might as well get used to it.

If he was an outsider who took over the government by force, I would be more upset about it. But the fact is that Americans voted for this, so this is basically the will of the people.

Some may come to regret it, but my guess is the majority will just accept the end of democracy as we know it with a shrug. People really just don’t give that much of a shit, is what I have come to realize.

While I may resign myself to Trump staying in power for the foreseeable future, the big question is what happens 10-15 years from now when old age inevitably takes its toll.

At that point, I doubt we’ll just go back to a democratically elected government.

It could very well end up with multiple power centers within the GOP basically going to war with each other, plus with whatever is left of the Dems thrown into the mix.

If this sounds like dystopian fiction, I will be the first to say that I hope you’re right. But I’m naturally not an optimist…

Hopefully by then we have fully integrated with robots and we will have Super Trump!

Tina Peter’s lawyer has already stated they met with Trump on the idea of confiscating the voting machines.

Look, historically the opposite party does very well during the midterms. The economy sucks ass compared to 2 years ago, it should be a historic landslide. If anything other than that happens the jig is up.

Did you just start paying attention to politics? Every president in my life time had a faction that won't turn on the guy they voted for, no matter the direction they take the country. It isn't new to Trump

you really think we won't have an election?
My guess is that the Dems will win the mid-terms and Trump will try to reverse the result similarly to 2020, claiming there was fraud.

Except now he and those around him are far more experienced with that sort of thing, and have fewer people who would object like Mike Pence and certain GOP elections officials.

I’m no lawyer or parliamentarian but probably the GOP will find a way to avoid seating the new Dem Congress. There will be outrage but if it spills into the streets, people will get shot.

Trump wanted to shoot protesters during the 2020 protests but was held back. Now there will only be people saying great idea.

Enthusiasm for protests will deflate once people start dying, and soon enough the whole thing will be shrugged off like everything else.

After that, Trump will realize that he doesn’t actually have to give up power, assuming he hasn’t already.

At that point, he will have to shut down the Republican primaries to keep the party lockstep behind him as he stays in power.

Whether that means canceling the 2028 election due to an „emergency” or due to the „fraud” in 2026 is anyone’s best guess, but it will be something along those lines.

Lawsuits will be filed but the Supreme Court will find a way to rule in Trump’s favor without officially approving his refusal to leave office.

For example, the Supreme Court will say that whoever files lawsuits against the canceled election lacks standing to bring it in court, or some other technicality.

The Supreme Court will say it is up to Congress to stop it with impeachment and removal, knowing full well that is never going to happen.

It will be a big news story for about a week, then people will turn their attention to Dancing with the Stars or NFL or whatever and shrug it off.

Life will go on more or less as normal, with perhaps more free speech restrictions at high levels of the media etc.

The shit won’t really hit the fan until 10-15 years from now when nature takes its course.

With the figurehead of Trump gone, GOP will turn on itself to see who will be the next dictator. Dems may see an opening to fight back. Different branches of the military could back different power centers.

That will be a doozy, but so be it. Again, I really hope this is my lame attempt at dystopian fiction. But I could easily see all the above happening.

Have you been to any Trump rallies? This is a religious experience for people. I’ve never seen anything like it, certainly not compared to a regular political rally. It’s apples and oranges.

cool story bro. sounds like Pelosi or chuck made this up

cool story bro. sounds like Pelosi or chuck made this up
Like I said, I do hope it turns out to be a „story” but I think it’s more likely now than it’s ever been in US history.

Just to make clear, I’m not a Democrat or liberal by the way. Been conservative, anti-nanny state, anti-abortion, anti-gun control, etc. for decades. I just happen to think Trump has zero respect for democracy.

But I am curious: what exactly do you find so implausible about my „story?” I am not trying to argue; I legitimately want you to reassure me that I am wrong.

Do you think it’s implausible that Trump will try to overturn the mid-terms? If so, why, considering he already tried to overturn an election?

Do you find it implausible that he would order protestors to be shot? He has publicly said as much himself.

What about him staying in power past 2029, considering he has repeatedly said he should be allowed to serve a third or even fourth term?

And why is it implausible that the Supreme Court would find a way to condone it?

They’ve already issued a ruling that allows him to break the law as long as it’s an „official act,” and also looked the other way on shit like the ballroom and other changes he is making to the federal government.

Seems like he has them wrapped around his little finger as much as everyone else.

Again, I am not trying to prove you wrong here — if anything, I am hoping you can prove me wrong.

Also, would you even have a problem with Trump becoming a dictator?

The impression I get from some friends who are Trump supporters is they actually think it would be pretty great.

Though I am not fond of Trump, I have to admit I have come to respect his skill as a politician. It’s almost like he has figured out the cheat code to governing and has become invincible. There has certainly never been anyone like him, for better or or worse.

I am curious. Do you think the 2020 election was legit?
Yes, I’ve seen no evidence of a widespread voter fraud conspiracy, and neither have the courts — and the Trump folks had plenty of opportunity to offer it.

The pattern I have noticed is that any election Trump loses is automatically fraudulent, and his supporters will automatically believe it whether there is compelling evidence or not.

It makes no sense that the Dems would engineer a fraudulent win for Biden and then not bother to alter down-ballot races they lost.

Like I said, I’m not a Dem but rather an old school Republican from the days when believing in conspiracy theories was not a prerequisite to belong in the GOP.

That said, I’m not particularly interested in debating the issue.

I’m far more interested in learning why Trump supporters don’t believe my scenario is plausible. I would actually love to hear some good reasons.

Secondly, I am interested in whether the Trump supporters here would actually oppose him seizing power and becoming a dictator.

I have friends in my personal life who support Trump and they generally wouldn’t have a problem with it, or not much of one. It certainly wouldn’t cause them to turn on the president.

In other words, I’m far more interested in hearing your opinions rather than rehashing the 2020 election, as it’s clear from the outset no minds will actually be changed.

Regarding Trump becoming a dictator, on the other hand, I am more than willing to change my opinion…

Well if your definition of protesting is "peaceful protesting" as they burn down cities, then yes, they should be shot.
Will he serve a third term? No. He loves to praise himself.
If you really think the election was fair then I don't know what to tell you.
Do I want a dictator? No. Do we, or will we have one? No.
Unlike the dumbass left, we do not condone everything our "guy" does because he's our guy.
Alternatively, if you want to know why people like Trump, listen to Bill Maher. When a guy like that meets with Trump and "likes" him, you gotta wonder why.
Trump has 2 personalities: 1 for the public, and the real Trump. People still can't figure that out. Seems like Bill maher rips on leftists more than conservatives. They're insane. Trump is the antithesis of that.

Oh I understand why people like Trump — I’ve been to a few of his rallies as an observer, and he is a magnetic personality.

With his willingness to speak off the cuff and say what he actually thinks, I can understand why people would consider him a breath of fresh air compared to politicians who run a focus group on every position.

I can even get behind some of his policies, particularly in the environmental sphere where regulation has often gone off the rails.

That said, I can’t embrace his personality with the constant bragging and self glorification, which to me indicates a genuine narcissist.

Also, he seems to consider his own will and whim as being more important than anything else, above the constitution and democratic principles. That is a bridge too far, given the possibility of destroying what makes this country great.

I hope I am just being paranoid about where those dictatorial qualities will lead. But so far, with all due respect, your replies have amounted to: “Nah, he won’t, don’t worry about it.” It’s not super reassuring.

I bet his rallies are crazy.
Aren't all politicians narcissists though? I mean really. Yes, he loves himself. And although it may be offputting, I don't care about his 2nd personality, i care about his first, where the boots hit the pavement.
If you work for a large company, do you know anything about the CEO? Most people i've asked that question to don't. Most don't even hardly know his name, nevertheless his personality traits. All they care is that they make money, aka, the outcome of his policies. Leftists and retarded democrats only care about if he's nice or mean. They are too low IQ to realize that that is not what will affect them. Only policies.
Look, I'm not a Trump fanboy, but you gotta look at all the things he's accomplished in his tenure that NO ONE has been able to. Does he do some stupid shit? yes. But like you say about the environmental topic, look at all the global warming bullshit he's gotten rid of, USAID, etc. He's done a lot of good.
As far as him being a dictator, do you really think the right and the left will allow that?
With that said, we let a true dementia patient "run" the country for 4 years and the left MSM said he was the brightest person they'd ever met. Soooo, anything can happen. HOWEVER, trump is an R not a D, so it will never happen. The corruption on the left is lightyears beyond the corruption on the right. I mean look at the Nick Shirley bill in CA. And all the dumbshits that live there will still vote blue.

Ordinarily I would not care much about a president’s personality but in this case, I think the narcissism is to a pathological level.

Why that matters is I think he believes himself above the law or the constitution, which is dangerous.

Again, just explaining my thinking, not trying to get anyone to turn on Trump, as I know that isn’t happening.

To an extent, he has capitalized on the excesses of the past. Take for example his blatant pay to play scheme with the crypto.

Taking meetings with the people who buy the most of his crypto dollars is a blatant influence peddling form of corruption.

But the reason people are inured to it is that he does it out in the open, much like the politicians who take meetings with the corporations and billionaires who donate to their campaigns.

The only difference with Trump is he is directly lining his own pocket, but because of the way money has already corrupted politics, people tend to shrug off the fact he is pushing the boundary this way.

Regarding your comment about the right and the left not “letting” Trump become dictator, I totally disagree.

The right is totally onboard with anything he does, which is obvious to everyone.

But the left is basically engaged in a civil war, with the socialist wing far more concerned about destroying the mainstream Democratic Party than they are about Trump. The left is too weak to prevent anything…

Ilhan Omar's DC home raided by HSI | Fox News

EXCLUSIVE: The home of Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn, was raided early Monday morning by Homeland Security Ivestigations (HSI), a source familiar with the matter told Fox News Digital.

The raid stems from a criminal fraud investigation into the Somali-born congresswoman's immigration paperwork, which was filled out by her late father when she was a child.

Two sources close to the investigation confirmed the details of the probe Thursday, after Border Czar Tom Homan said in mid-September that the progressive congresswoman was subject to an ongoing "criminal" investigation.
