I own a 2002 5 speed AWD WRX and I love driving it, Im getting the shifter repaired on it as we speak.
the first 4 gears are straight cut, sounds meaner than a Pete Jackson gear drive on a cammed out small block chevy pulling 6 grand .
She’s turbo charged with a 50shot to get her out of the hole while she spools. On todays standards its not fast but its a blast to drive with the coil overs and AWD
Cold nights make all the difference since its only a 2.0 I believe everyone should know how to drive a standard, versus texting and driving which is sort of like the new stick shift haha

Straight cut? Ouch. Tough stuff. Funny you said that, my Foxbody is in the transmission shop getting a new output shaft bearing. Only car my kid has ever driven is a manual since she was 15. I just believed that you couldn't clutch, gas, brake, shift, steer and use a cellphone at the same time. It was a built in anti-cellphone. She never got into the habit of texting and driving and now 7 years later, she still doesnt and loves manuals. Classically Trained. 🤣 Bought her this shirt for xmas.
