I’m 40 and have been on trt for couple years and my genetics have finally closed in on me. My LDL and HDL are within normal limits but my total triglycerides I was able to come down from 606 to 413. Still very high. Doctor has prescribed me fenofibrate and we will run labs again in 3 months. Curious if anyone is on a lipid medication or statin

i take max amount of atorvastatin 80 mg i think----my levels were almost 400 for a couple years and i ignored it because i thought it was wrong --this was because it was by my niece doing phlebotomy classes----8-9 months before that my levels were 190----anyway found out they were that high because i had a widow maker heart attack!!! now on the statin it stays low 100s

How’s your diet? Do you do Cardio? That’s extremely high for triglycerides.. clean diet and cardio has all mine in range even on cycle.

Those are some high levels! I've known numerous peoples on prescription lipid scripts. Yes, they work but come with sides that are dependent on the user. Not something you take lightly.

I would get a few recommendations from doctors on the matter and take the best course of action as we don't know the specifics of your bloods or vitals.

Diet is clean. Used to compete for fun but am passed that life now but still eat relatively the same. Cardio sometimes is consistent. I’m a RN and I work sometimes 4 12’s and it’s a bit difficult to get a workout AND cardio in.

quality omega 3’s will also help keep Trigs low especially when combined with fenofibrate . If trigs > 500, that’s a risk factor for pancreatitis

Personally I take 10 mg atorvastatin, omega 3’s and citrus bergamot

But in your case the fibrate + omega combo really helps lower trigs

atorvastatin worked excellent for me----better than 400+

Same situation a while back. Got a stent in my widow maker. Atorvastatin 80, Ezetimibe, Clopidogrel, 4,000mgs Omega 3's, Valsartan/Amlodipine and Repatha. Everything was good the last few labs but even with all of that HDL still comes back a little low sometimes. 32 isn't too terribly bad but still low. My genetics suck in this area. GW-0742 helps a good bit as well.

Damn!! Glad your better man!! That could’ve been serious

Thanks man. It was serious. Scared the hell outta me. 90% blockage. Doc said if I had opted against the stent and gone home I wouldn't have made it back. Too many people don't take lipids seriously and that's a shame.

How much fat are you eating and what sources? Also cardio has to be essential brother

Was sitting at 86 myself last set of labs (on cycle currently). 30 mins cardio fasted ED, trace fat intake, and 10g fish oil.

Fats intend to keep low. Mostly from seeds and raw olive oil.

You got seriously lucky!
No such thing as luck but I won't go there. I know what you meant. 👍

I try to talk about what I've actually been through on here instead of regurgitating. Too much of that already. Lipids, prostate, some heart stuff. Blood pressure can be very personalized and tricky so I tend to stay away from that outside suggesting going to a doctor. Point being there's entirely too much "bro science" bullshit so I try to interject where I can but ONLY what I know. No guessing. That's dangerous.

Agreed. I take mine same time every day.

I’d suggest asking a mod to remove the MD name. Still usable information to someone somehow.

61 years old, 170 total cholesterol and never taken any cholesterol medications. Been running gear for 30 years plus and done all kinds of cycles. Now with that said one hour cardio religiously, no carbs or sugar, while on any cycle I use Carderine, plenty of fiber green veg and nuts, tea spoon of flaxseed oil every morning for the past 20 years. Again this is my experience only and everyone is different.

I dont take any cholesterol meds. Only 10g of Krill Oil per day. My HDL normally runs 32, but dropped on this one from the increase in Test. Overall, not bad for 45.
