My Newbie log

They have not. I’m waiting on an MRI but based on research I’m doing it’s potentially a grade 3. The clavical bone is definitley pushing through the top of my trap. Did u end up getting surgery?

I didn’t get surgery and my bone still pokes up lol.

get it in a sling id they haven’t given you one, it’s not necessary but it takes the pressure off the shoulder

Oof. Did u gain full range of motion back?
I've never seen someone who is an athlete or into bodybuilding that didn't opt for surgery with grade. If you have the means, you get it done and never have to worry about it again. Otherwise, you will be vastly limited in any pursuit in bodybuilding in which we spoke about. Of course, the choice is yours and your Dr but just giving my 2 cents of what I've experienced over two decades.

Oh no dude I want surgery lol work comp is ganna fight me tooth and nail but I’m way to physically active to not have surgery done. There either ganna do it because I need it done to continue my life the way I was before this injury OR a lawyer sues them for the money I need to have it done lol either way it’s happening. I was just curious what his recovery was like without it

I have full range of motion but without the surgery there’s definitely an inbalance that took a lot of time to figure out how to workout my chest and back to hit both sides equally.

It’s hard to explain the imbalance but I have to be very diligent about how I move and set my broken side prior to back and chest movements to make sure it’s engaging as much as possible

I recommend the surgery if your doctor does

Every case is different but I wouldn’t say it’s that dramatic tbh. I don’t think it would hold someone back from being competitive at a national level given they understand how to work out the damaged side properly

I respectfully disagree. National level? Have you ever competed?

Yessir and I can send you some stage photos and you can tell me which side has the separation?
Well, you sir you are an outlier and good for you. I believe you, no need to send pics. lol We're adults here.

However, for a guy in his 30's not to opt for surgery on an injury that will hinder him (regardless of what they peruse - just in general) as well as build himself up for a future show which will require quite a lot of work isn't optimal in my opinion.

that’s why I mentioned every case being different. I probably got insanely lucky that the asymmetry isn’t there and not everyone would be that lucky which is why I recommended the surgery in my initial post.

I’d say the biggest disadvantage to not doing the surgery is until you figure out your new biomechanics, your non broken side will over compensate and other muscle than the target muscle will take over on the broken side for pressing movement. It’s a challenge but not impossible

172lb fasted

40 min walk after legs, I’ll go again later on for another 40 min before dinner

Just ganna upload my step counter. Drastic difference from when I was able to train and work. Idk how I’m not 70000lbs right now
