Just glad you guys realize this is an opportunity. It's a hard switch to flip with some investors.
 
No one is losing anything unless you’re selling. If you see red you buy and wether you make money today or tomorrow or you lose further down the line you’ll make money. Everything is on sale is the way I look at it since I invest long term.

I agree but guys in retirement with no dry powder have to be concerned a little bit.

I agree, but once you react to the market on emotion you’re screwed, whether fear or excitement. If you look at the statistics corrections don’t last more than a few months, unless my portfolio was heavily leveraged on margin I wouldn’t sell during a sell off, I’d buy regardless of my age. I know, easy to say where you’re not there, but that’s how I look at it.

I think he means those that are retired and are living off their investments, and don’t have income to continue to buy, or if they’re do it’s social security (which they probably use for mostly living expenses)

Probably has to be a real stomach twister for those people, especially if they’re not conditioned to these kinds of market swings

Ooooooh I got no idea once I hit retirement I’m pulling a lump sum of cash and living off that. Why would you keep all your money in the market still lol

I generally never try to go into options at the end of the week. Everything is a little high from the 90 day hold announcement. Wouldn't be surprised if there was another downturn this evening post market and pre market Monday. Hard to tell right now though.

havent logged in a bit but... Stock market going up and down doesn't change small cap trading. I saw a guy make 30,000 grand in a day when everybody was claiming the sky is falling a couple weeks ago.

Now my 401k is a blood bath but that is what it is. It'll bounce back. Just gotta keep buying.

Agree on that, although I still think the whole slavery system is the worst. Be born, labeled with a number, forced to go to school just to learn basic education to be an employee the rest of your life, then be a slave of the workforce your entire life till retirement running around in the “bills” hamster wheel while your social security money is invested and grown by financial institutions for their own gain, all the while you may not even live long enough to ever see it or enjoy it.

Be born to work and make money for someone else till you die essentially. Very few escape this matrix.

Social security for sure.

If you took all the money paid into social security and just put it into an index fund instead, everyone would be 10x better off. They’ve grossly mismanaged the social security funds, but now they’re in too deep to really change or cancel it (people would panic and riot)

I still have a long way to go before retirement but those greedy fucks best not say the SS well is dry when my time comes.
They force most to put into that. Its not an entitlement.
