If you do 2mls per vial. To figure out how much you want and have use the formula (desired/have)x(volume) if you want 250mcg you know you have 5,000mcg in 2mls

250/5000 = 0.05
0.05x2 = 0.1
0.1 equals 10 units on insulin syringe. Or 0.1ml on 1ml syringe.

1000mcg=1mg

ER nurse here so I’m used to doing the dosage calculations
