How to pm individuals

I am fairly new to the forum and not quite sure how to pm individuals. I really don't know how it works is it like responding to or sending an email or what? I am lost any assistance would be appreciated.

click on the username and then click send private message. you can then go to your inbox by clicking the notifications tab on top right of page.
