Yest and Deca with minimal results

Nitty gritty of it. Im going to get bloodwork for the very first time. I have been on Test and Deca for about 2 1/2 months. This is my second cycle after a 3 month off period. Last cycle I got a bit puffy, as one would expect and now I don't t have near the size or or water retention. I used a different source for both the second time around. I was worried the second stuff wasnt as good. Now Im wondering if I have become resistant to something which is preventing my bulking and its not the product. Does anyone have an idea what's happening? Could I get some info on what to ask for on my blood tests? Thanks for any help.
 
Pretty vague post without much info. Height, weight, dosages, bloodwork, diet and calories like everyone said, etc. Hard to answer when the only information is "not near the size or water retention." Gonna need more information to help with this one.

99% of the time, people take gear like a magic potion thinking its going to.perform miracles without discipline and hard work. When it doesnt, they blame the gear. Not saying this is your situation, but its pretty common here.
 
I agree with both of you guys. My diet is pretty good. I try to get in 160 grams of protein a day but there are days i just cant do it. I eat eggs and rice pretty much every morning, work out and do another 40 grams of protein shakes and creatine. Steak or chicken for dinner and another shake before bed. Im happy with the way I look but in my last cycle I was noticeably stronger and retained more water as you might imagine I started this round weighing about 160-165. Im 5'8 on a good day. Im not trying to get to 200lbs but I have been 185 with 7% body fat. This was many years ago. Im 54 now and still spend about 5 days a week in the gym. My workouts are still with the same weights as I started with. I work out by myself so its tough to add more weight with out a spotter. I am still learning about how the body works. I seen an article talking about insulin resistance and Im a sugar head so it kind of made me nervous which brought me to ask few questions. I have done about 5 cycles in my life and always added strength a bit of muscle and a bunch of water weight, but not this time. Im running 250mg of test on Mon and Friday with 300mg of Deca on wed. I just ordered HGH, so im excited to add that to the mix. I have asked about bloodwork in the past but Im unsure what I need to ask for. I did have bloodwork done at my Dr's request and it didn't have any info on Test score or free Test. Is there a specific type of bloodwork I should ask for? Im terribly sorry for the long post. To me sounds like you aren’t eating or training hard enough and seems like you enjoy sweet treats and junk food as well. Again this is my
Opinion based off the minimal info given. I’d get bloods pulled. Dial in my diet and training. And get yourself on a solid plan. Also personally I’d up the test dose myself but that’s a you decision

160 grams of protein isn’t hard to get in brother. I’m eating over 250 in a cut, and feel hungry all day.

Like most ppl already said, you don’t eat even close to what you’re supposed to eat and probably not training hard enough either, it’s no wonder you’re not growing. Steroids are not magic.

I would recommend to just stop the cycle, learn how to eat and train correctly, do that for a few months and then start a real cycle and not an half ass 250 Test/300 Deca cycle, how did you come up with those dosages???
 
I agree with you that 5'08" and 200 lbs., probably is not going to look very good. The reality is your 58 years old. Maybe focus on labs, diet, TRT, consistent training, and health, first. Then see where your at. Men in there late 50's and 60's can look incredible with the right lifestyle. Good luck Bro!
 
I dont do a lot of carbs. I have been trying to find a protein powder without any sugar but thats a tough one. I have been doing the optimum nutrition stuff but its so sweet tasting. Im doing just the straight Vanilla. Any recommendations? As far as fats, only what's on my steaks and i eat a fair amount of pecans, and Cashews so there is a good amount of fat in those. By the way, im 54, not 58.:mad: Just teasing.👍

So you can't get in 160 grams of protein, don't do a lot of carbs, and you're wondering why you aren't seeing gains?
 
As stated, diet. Carbs specifically. Not sure if this is "the right way", but for me, when I'm trying to gain I focus on carbs first, protein second and keep fats as low as possible. Also, if you're going to run gear, train like it. Half assing it will yield little to no results.
 
Seems protein and calories are low. Getting bigger is not comfortable. And studies show as people get older then need more protein then younger guys just to maintain and grow. 200 grams or protein would be the minimum from my experience at your size and age for growth.
 
With that much deca you should.be holding water. Sounds like your gear may be bad too along with your diet needing help. Regardless of diet you should have seen the water retention. Who was your gear sourced from?

Ya'll know I like to draw so I made a visual. Not my normal, but still informative. Here is the difference between my plate and my wife's plate. Decide your goals then use these photos as reference on how your plate should look. Match the plate with the goal. One plate for Gains, one for Loss. Gains are made on the plate, not the syringe.

You want to get power and size off of deca, you have to shovel in calories all day. This lean bulk thing aint gonna work for you. You need to dirty bulk and you need to go heavy. Maybe Tren would be a better option for you and your calories deficit.
 
Thanks again. I was under the impression that it should be a gram of protein per lb of body weight. I will up it to 200. Brg911, if we are allowed, i can state the name of I have a buddy get my gear because I couldn't figure out Bitcoin. Now i have figured it out so I will be ordering it myself. The first cycle I did the same work out routine and ate the same diet. I was happy with the results. The gear im using now has effected me totally different. No water retention and no strength added. Im sure that Im not as focused as many of you guys while at the gym, but I do what I can.

Its more than just Protein. That is just 1/3 of the recipe. You have to account for overall caloric intake and you still have to be in a caloric surplus to gain. It's not just a matter of more protein, its more calories.

Im one of those guys, if I have to and its an emergency where my feeding window is open, I'll pull into mcdonalds and get a double quarter pounder with no cheese or shit all over it. Not good but hey

Some other things to consider, but this is a big one.

  • You started this cycle at 160-165, we’ll use 160 fasted true weight. What’s your weight now 2/12 months later?
  • Your main focus is on protein, which you struggle to get in. So, your diet is not “pretty good” it’s actually pretty bad. Essentially your diet is whatever + 160g of protein and sometimes you hit it and sometimes you don’t, so we’re just consuming whatever.
  • Another point as far as insulin resistance, you seem to be fixated on that topic and probably the reason why you limit carbs, but eating carbs isn’t gonna lead to insulin resistance assuming you’re not pre diabetic or something. Now if you get yourself really fat which I’m sure you won’t eating what you’re eating, then yes you’ll have a negative impact on insulin sensitivity, so get that out of your head and eat some carbs.
  • As far as not getting stronger on the cycle, number 1 reason is most likely your training. 2nd the fact you’re under eating.
  • I’d re assess everything you’re doing, I understand if you don’t have the time or flexibility to be 100% locked in, but bottom line is what you put in is what you’re gonna get out as Rich Pianna would say.
