Get Shredded!
54 year old dude that loves to bench. I was shot in the knee when I was a kid and have fucked up knee and hips so I usually only focus on upper body work.
I spent a lot of time as a younger man in the gym but ended up living out of a bottle for 10 years or so, then kids, marriage, mortgage, kids mortgages, you know the drill.
7 years ago I started back in the gym and though gains were slow, I continued to go and work because I wanted the old me back. I even became a partner in a gym.
6 1/2 years later and a lot of slow gains later, decided to get the old testosterone levels tested, average of 3 tests 3 months apart were 175. So I got the dr to put me on trt.
I didn't really notice any changes. going back a ways... Remember I was a part owner of a gym... a year and a half ago or so, during a locker clean out I became the proud owner of 5 bottles of 250mg test cyp.
The guy who used that locker was pretty jacked so I assumed the gear was good. A quick call to him confirmed that he was called away quickly and wasn't able to clean out his shit.
A few months later he called to say he wasn't coming back and I could do whatever I wanted to do with the bottles, so I kept them. I know long story, right. Well I figured since I was already
pinning test from the Dr, why not add in a little extra from this stash. Now the good part. I had been slowly adding strength on the bench and got up to competition best of 375 and pretty much stalled there despite a lot of bench and bench centric work.
As soon as I started the plus portion of the TRT, 300mg every 4 days within 5 weeks I added a shit ton of strength. I just competed earlier this month and put up a pretty easy 436!! With just 300mg of test every 4 days over 5 weeks!!!

So now I'm interested in adding another compound or two to help lose a few extra beer induced pounds and perhaps tame some of the joint pains in the lower body and start focusing on some leg and lower back strength.
All of that to give a bit of background and see what some of the more senior - both age wise and usage wise - might have to recommend.

Welcome Brother!

You might try Deca 50-100 wk for Joint pain. I've been using it for several months and it work well for pain, inflammation of joints and helps me with some back pain.

Welcome. The strength gains I got from my first ever were ridiculous and I was running sust250 for 8 weeks. That will slow down but your lean body mass and feeling of well being and everything else will improve if you don't start abusing.
Biggest mistake people make is thinking more is better and its actually not. Congrats on your gains. I recommend you do a lot of reading and research before jumping on other stuff and make sure to do it slowly.

Also, fat loss will depend on your diet, calorie deficit and cardio. There are gear out there to assist but with the diet and cardio will not be effective. Good luck.

You may want to run another set of labs prior to adding anything or making adjustments to your dosage.

That is smart advice. Right now I have full labs run every 6 weeks, test levels every 3 months. With the exception of a couple that are just over the high range, everything is perfect. The ones that are out of range have been for a long time so I can safely assume that the changes I'm making are not the cause. For example.. my PSA numbers float around 5 ng/mL and always have. The first time the Dr. saw that he loaded me up with a ton of tests and scans including a biopsy, they found nothing wrong. My RBC, Hemoglobin and Hematocrit have always been outside of the high norm, and haven't changed with the addition of test. The only number that bugs me a bit is my prolactin, it varies between 28 and 40. Oddly I have a ANF so if I were to actually start to lactate I'm not sure I'd really mind that much. (that last part is a lame attempt at a funny, well not the ANF part) I just finished up a round of heart tests, to get cleared for surgery to remove my thyroid, including a CT with contrast and I have the heart of a 20 year old. I was shocked to find I even had a fucking heart, I thought it was long gone.

Very solid advice from WG, as usual.

Welcome!

I am not familiar with ANF, but you mentioned thyroid issues, so I am assuming you have an Endo to treat a neuroendocrine disorder, and am curious to know if they are prescribing your Test and monitoring your markers? If so, did they have any concerns about or explain how your thyroid issues effect (if any) your prolactin levels? Did they happen to advise if there is a correlation between your history of low Test and high prolactin levels, and what is causing that? Some people have treated elevated prolactin levels with B6 P5P, but you may be on a different level with having neuroendocrine issues. Also, regarding your RBC/H&H, have you had treatment for this such as donating blood

ANF = Adult Nursing Fetish. I love a lactating breast! As far as my thyroid goes, the only reason the nodule was found was during a routine chest scan because of my history of smoking. Thyroid function tests were always within range, T3, T4 and TSH all in the middle, but at 4.5cm it meets the requirements for removal. It was biopsied and determined to be benign. The high prolactin levels are most often a result of a tumor on the pituitary gland, but a scan showed no such thing. That high level has been put into the same - that's the normal for you - category. I donate as often as I can, but will start doing phlebotomy (or blood letting as I like to call it) here in the coming months.

436# at 54yo is impressive, congrats.
at 48 I am a lil scared of Joint issues with 1Rep maxes but I do not compete.

One advice I give you my friend as a 57 year old is that I know you feel like Superman, but don’t rush. Last thing you want is an injury tear. Going up too fast on strength will put tremendous amount of stress on your joints and tendons while your muscles are keeping up.
Be safe
