Get Shredded!
I know I have stayed injury free using all machines. I stick mostly with plate loaded and the old school flex fitness machines since I have them all. By far my favorite brand. My functional strength is probly trash but training 7 days a week for hours, I found out years ago my lower back, wrists and elbows would fall apart

I use like 75% machines/cables and idc what the brand is, as long as they run smooth.

I like cables for the constant tension throughout the movements. I would say my workouts are pretty fairly balanced with free weights and cables. Thankfully no pain anywhere but I like to think that my recent (the last two years really) focus on mobility helped me stay pain free. Getting older has really brought to light the importance of maintaining my functional mobility and I honestly wish I had made it a focus when I began lifting.

Actually I get more pain when I do cables than free weights, but I always keep the basic 3, and when I do cables my volume is much higher, maybe that's the problem.

I use the cable machines instead of plate loaded, unless there’s some really cool plate loaded machines, like v squat, squat pro, pendulum squat.. Also use cables and free weights, bench, dumbbells, barbells, tbar, cambered bar

I rediscovered the joys of cable machines and I also make use of the plate loaded ones too. As I also ditched barbell bench for dumbbells, that has also helped reduce the risk of injury as I'm getting older and going real heavy has become a liability for me.

I just recently started squatting in the Smith Machine and I’m most likely never going back to a free weight squat unless I’m extremely depressed and want to have the feeling of 400lbs on my back and the risk of it crushing me.

It's important to find a balance between machine-based exercises and functional movements to avoid injuries and achieve a well-rounded fitness routine. Keep listening to your body and prioritizing proper form and technique for long-term health.

I really like the Prime Fitness machines. The plate loaded ones where you can load in different positions to change the resistance curve are awesome.

I don't have any brand loyalty. I use a combination of Machines, cables, free weights. Depends on what I'm doing, or if someone is on a machine chatting, I just move on to a different area to hit the same muscle a different way.

"Machines" and "Old School" should never be used in the same sentence.
WHile they can be useful, they are an easy way out, only to build a collection of bodyparts.
Not a functional strength and muscle machine. Heavy compound barbell lifts are the key.

Theres not many good ones IMO, they all sort of suck..

Combination, fucking love both. For me after the foundation years of building the mass and base which were ton of free weights, I def do 60% or more machines/hammer strength now. Love the isolation movements and time under tension. I usually do free weight heavy exercises at the start of my workouts and then machines ect. Works best for me.
