Get Shredded!
I'm 6'5 257lbs right now. I do fasted cardio 4-6x, and currently running the same cycle I ran last year. 750 Test E 750 EQ and 450 NPP. Last year my blood pressure got up around 130/70 but never went any higher then that. When I cruise, my BP is around 115/70. During this blast, my BP got as high as 150/70. I started taking 5mg Cialis daily, and carditone x2 daily and now my BP is down around mid 130s/70. I still have a few weeks left of this blast, and was wondering if theres anything else you can recommend to help keep BP in check? and should i be really worried about my BP being around 130s/70?

Daily beet juice is actually pretty impressive for blood pressure, CoQ10 can help as well, otherwise may need to pay your primary care provider a visit and get some norvasc

Beet juice is awesome for lowering blood pressure and is great for huge pumps.

A lot of guys would love to have those numbers. 130/70 is good. There's some good suggestions here already. How old are you, when was the last time you had blood work (hematocrit/rbc), when was the last time you donated, etc?

Those are some really impressive BP numbers! Your diastolic number; bottom number( blood pressure at rest ) , is the most important one to be monitored. If it’s under 90 you’re doing great. Beet juice is great but I found this in an earlier thread and it is superior to anything I’ve used. Multi-vati

Last time I had blood work was late august. Bloods were from cruising for a few months and everything looked good. I also donated blood around the end of august. I am planning to get blood work done in a week or two, and I will probably donate again before the end of the december.

I'm 29. 130/70 isnt anything to be too worried about? I get paranoid about my BP because I hear everyone talk about how important it is. I love doing this shit, but I want to do it long term, and as healthy as I can.

Your long term mindset is good and keeping an eye on things is the right way to go. But I wouldn't sweat 130/70. PWO, caffeine, etc can all be contributing factors too. And salt of course. We have a ridiculous amount of sodium in our diets. Too often we think in terms of "what can I add" to fix the problem, instead of "what can I take away."

Currently taking carditone x2 daily, and 5mg of Cialis, along with 30 minutes of fasted cardio 4-6x a week. Carditone and cialis are what got my numbers down from 150/70ish to 130/70
Yeah 130/70 is okay. I prefer mine to be around 125/70 myself, but 130 is still healthy.

Now if it starts getting higher on the Carditone and Cialis you're gonna end up having to swap the Carditone for real BP meds.

I'm not sure what guys deal is regarding BP meds. Act like they're the devil yet they'll inject loads of chinese ugl because it's...safer? I don't know. There comes a point where meds are necessary, especially living this lifestyle. You're doing good by keeping your BP in check, that's one of the most important things to keep your eye on when doing this. It'll sure you the kidney problems that many end up having, along with reducing the long term negative affects on your heart.

I think the stigma of BP meds comes from old timers telling us that "once you go on them, you're gonna be on them for life. You can't never come off."

What they don't tell you is you'll probably end up on two. :p Nothing wrong with BP meds though. Probably a lot more people should be on them. And taking something for life isn't that big a deal.

Yeah I don't know much about BP meds but all I see is negative things about them all over all the boards. I'm trying to stay away from them if possible, and I'm hoping once my blast ends, and I start cruising my BP will come back to normal and I can stop worrying lol.

Multislacking and GC are very correct. Keeping Blood pressure in check is probably the most critical and overlooked part of AAS. You’re doing good by paying attention to it now. Keep that shit up and like GC said... BP meds aren’t the devil. High blood pressure is tho.

Yeah it's good to not use them unless you need them. Eventually you will end up needing them to stay healthy. The bigger you get the higher your BP will get. It's just par for the course unfortunately.

Once you come off the blast it'll go down. Make sure your hct isn't too high, that'll raise your blood pressure too.

Yeah they're definitely not the devil lol. It's also funny people think you can't come off of them. Some people can't, but they're normal people and age, BMI, etc raises it more and more over time. But if a guy just gets high BP when they're on blast, they stop and it goes down. Same thing with meds, I used to only use them while I was on and stopped once I came off and my BP normalized.

Honestly I’d skip the carditone and go for a low dose of a bp med like lisinopril. Carditone is a lot more expensive and not nearly as effective. I too went the carditone route for on blasts until I learned how cheap bp med is once you get a prescription. Even without insurance it’s like $5 a month using the free GoodRx app.

Have you noticed any draw backs or negative sides with the BP meds? And this is probably stupid, but can you start and stop BP meds as needed, or are you on for life?

No, they are pretty side effect free. And they are proven to be safe long term. And yes you can start and stop as needed. I only use them when I’m on blast if bp creeps up

The main side effect that is reported is a cough. It's fairly rare but definitely can happen. If it does, doctor's typically try an ARB, if it does the same they move on to something like a beta blocker.

You can definitely go on and off. As long as you're healthy enough and can keep your BP under control naturally that is. Of course as we get older and bigger it tends to go up so keep that in mind

When my hemoglobin is elevated from roids my blood pressure goes up. If I donate or do it my self then my blood pressure drops back to normal.
