FedNow is a digital transfer service that will go through the Federal Reserve. Its an onramp to CBDC. It seems innocent enough until you understand what is likely going to happen. It will be programmable software so not really money. They can make the digital currency have an expiration date and they can make it so it has limits on certain purchases. I predict they will roll this out and over time phase out cash. We will then be complete slaves. This theoretically could happen this year.

FedNow is started (pilot program). They did a soft launch the first week of April behind the scenes. Its being rolled out in phases. However it isn't a full blown CBDC. Functionality will be added in steps.

Debit card been around since the early 70’s. I can remember my dad and his buddies all talking about how this was the end of cash way back then. My mom refused to use it at grocery stores and used checks until just a few years ago.

I’m 61 and I don’t see this being a focus for me anytime soon.

its pretty much already digital, banks dont carry large amounts of cash, and they trade 10 dollars for every 1 dollar you deposit so banks themselves dont even trade real money. What I'm concerned about is data breaches, how will they keep it secure enough that hackers wont figure out how to clean you out. People already steel tax returns and collect your unemployment while you are actually working.

Should be noted that there are several countries already using this and the US is just now looking into it. As of today the most recognized currency in the world is the US dollar. Try spending a peso here.

You cant have a CB Digital Currency without a digital ID. Which basically is a means towards a social credit system.

I'm not seeing many people mention precious metals like Gold or Silver. The BRICS nations are all going gold backed and are refusing use the Petro dollar. I don't trust and electronic payment system including Bitcoin as it can be manipulated. If I'm hedging my bets against the dollar is going to be with some tangible like Gold or Silver.

Cash is not king, assuming you mean the dollar. Once the dollar was taken off the gold standard they are able to inflate it's value away at their own leisure which they've done virtually nonstop since Nixon. If the dollar loses reserve currency status (which absolutely is happening) cash will hyperinflate to a degree not seen since ancient Rome. The cash monetary system in America is just as corrupt and unserving of the working man as CBDC will be.

This is why crypto is being attacked left and right by the elite in power...the Fed in particular. It has the potential to remove their control and inflationary manipulation and serve the masses rather than the few. Don't buy what these clowns are saying about crypto. It's one of the best things to happen to humanity since the internet. (CBDC is NOT a real crypto). They're doing their best to convince people of otherwise.

Debit is not digital currency. It's an electronic representation of physical FIAT currency. It's base value is still a dollar bill in a vault somewhere.

I've been wary of the government ever since Canada's government shut down the bank accounts of all the Freedom Convoy protestors forcing them to abandon their right to protest against draconian Covid closures. Our currency is not backed by gold. Its paper debt backed by the "petrodollar" and our military. The petrodollar is being dismantled and we are watching the petroYaun replace it. It could take years or it could take weeks for the USA to lose reserve status. Right now this admin is doing everything within its power to destroy our currency.

Buy preps and commodities. Unfortunately they will regulate and stop BTC.

I tried to explain this years ago to all the guys who were dumping their pension for a fraction of a percent in their 401k. That pension may be the difference between eating Alpo or Old Roy during retirement.

3. There will be a crisis that will be created by them so they can say the only way to keep your funds safe is digital-biometric implant/tattoo.

Do what you can now to prepare to live outside the system. It will require funding and MASSIVE shift in lifestyle.

I’m diversified!

So a serious question. When commerce gets on board and only accepts digital currencies what choice do I have to get my Alpo? Not like I can take a handful of 5.56 to Walmart to barter.
