Read up about Daniel Amaya, one of my closest friends, we went to Boot Camp and School of Infantry together. Daniel actually almost got brought up on charges for AWOL because his sister was killed in a Car accident before reporting in to SOI because he was late to inform our command. He was killed in Fallujah on 4/11/2004. I still have a letter from his Mom Kacey (who passed away in 2009) talking about the loss of Daniel.
