I’m going to listen to the experts. Keep myself alive and worry about the economy later. This isn’t the first time the world has dealt with an issue like this, but it’s the first time we’ve had the science and medical technology to save a bunch of lives.

so you have no idea but just want to be a smart ass and call me the health expert on this board? wtf is your problem? why be such an asshole?

pretty soon you’ll realize that the virus is going to be the least of your or the countries problems. it’s the economy you need to worry about.

The economy has transformed many time. We’ve survived two world wars. It’s going to suck, but it will rebuild.

The wars are what brought our economy back. Without one the defense industry won't pump money back into the populace, those people spending that money, growing other business. Without that, recovery will be excruciatingly slow.

The idea of focusing more on just the old people and immunocompromised really being the ones to quarantine is gaining momentum and I wouldn’t disagree

This could very well be where we are headed. The real question is to what extent and with who.

I agree with this. If we know who is at risk we need to work protect them but we can't shut down the country for months waiting on a cure. I'm fine with the temporary shut down to get testing kits, ventilators, more hospital beds, medicine studies, and so on. But eventually we need to go back to work so we don't go into a depression. The cure to this virus can't become worse than the virus itself.

Also a very concerning thought. I spent a fair amount of my early adult life in combat and I'd prefer to not see it happen again. The belligerents in this case would almost assuredly be China and Russia. Let's hope that doesn't happen, for the world's sake. That would be bloody

My thoughts as well. With all that debt to china already...not good.
