I've got several good friends who work for US Border Patrol. Field agents. The stories I hear from them are insane.

You know who they all hate the most. Obama and Biden. And several of these men I speak of are "Mexican's" meaning they were born in Mexico and came here legally.

They say the Border is the worst it has ever been and a few of them have been there since Bill Clinton.

They say their job is unrewarding and so many people quit bc their hands are tied. The openly despise Mayorkas.

The odd thing is I ask them Political affiliation and most of them dont even have one. But they say Trumps wall was the best deterrent that should have happened. Even the Agents that hate Trump said they want a border.

When I lived in Nogales, hell going back to 2000? We had a wall. It was build with old bridges and metal from Vietnam. I mean a real shithole but effective and super tall. No one could even climb it.

Cameras are everywhere in the Ports of Entrys. I bet @CoachCabo knows way more about this topic then I do. I'm only speaking from what I have been told and seen with my own eyes.

The Border was horrific when I was there in 2000. I can't imagine how bad it is now.

Having said this, my compadre, a Navy brother, grew up in TJ and so I know a bit about border dynamics. I watched the Navy SeaBees build a steel, solid fence on our side, next to our chain link fence on our side too, but closer to Mexico. The Mexicans took down all the chain link and when you drive along the border, all the vecinos have nice chain link dog runs on their roofs.
That SeaBee fence had tiny holes, so crossers could see North but Border Patrol couldn’t see anything South.
Genius.

The new “wall“ is awesome and should eventually span the entire legth our our border.

I asked my compadre why Mexico doesn’t help. He said they would if asked but anyone crossing North but ignoring orders from troops, would be shot. Then of course, America would be blamed for deploying Mexican troops.

And I knew plenty of Customs and BP agents when I lived in SD. They said it was a shit show then.

Speaking of shit show…look on google earth. See those huge sewage treatment plants on our side of the wall? We built those to serve Tijuana because they were pumping shit out to sea, contaminating our beaches all the way up to Mission Beach sometimes. This isn’t known to most of the country.

I will say this again, not a single Mexican I know has any interest in living in the USA.

My point in mentioning that I know of no Mexicans personally that want to move there is to illustrate that everything Americans are led to believe about Mexicans all wanting to go to the LOTF is not true. I also know a bunch of people with visas who travel to other countries, including the States, but return home, not staying ilegally.

Have you guys ever seen when the Central Americans were doing that "train" or "caravan" thing through Mexico? (or whatever they called it) They showed the people of Tijuana giving the immigrants soap, cooked meals and clothes. They were bitching about being given soap, throwing the food out in the street, saying shit like "Beans and tortillas?! We don't eat fucking beans and tortillas!"

So if this is how they behave when the kindness of strangers is given to them from people in a country that doesn't want them, how do you think they will behave once in the country that seems to welcome them with open arms? Those are NOT people we want to immigrate to the USA.

It probably comes as a surprise to Americans but most of Mexico and Mexicans see the USA as a very powerful and friendly neighbor to the North. They recognize that the prosperity of the USA directly affect the prosperity of Mexico. If most of America saw things reciprocally, it would be a much better environment. Instead, Americans are led to believe that all Mexicans are poor, corrupt, thieves and without any sort of morality, with a sole focus of violating the immigration policies of the USA and invading our country to exploit it. So, so wrong.

I know a lot of people here who go to Canadia because they can go there and get a visa on arrival. The are looking for an "American style experience" but feel as if they are not welcome in the USA. I have some dear friends who I would love to have travel with us on our trips North but getting an American visa is either cost prohibitive or unobtainable. Imagine if they could travel to the USA and get the same, pleasant experience most travelers to Mexico get.

100% correct. The media portrays Mexico and Mexicans in a poor light, all the time. At the same time crying about the "poor immigrants and their treatment". But twisted Trump's words (surprise surprise) when he made that comment about "rapists and criminals" or whatever. When my Mexican friends asked me or were talking about those portrayed comments (during the campaign iirc) and stated their offense to such words, I asked them if they had seen themselves the entire comments in context. the answer was of course "no". I showed them the actual speech and they pretty much all said "Pinche fucking media."

Listen, Mexican aren't without faults. I bitch about them every day, probably 15 times today already and it only 10am. But most of America has the entirely wrong impression, based on bullshit media.

borders were closed you didnt see migrant caravans the same as now, Im talking borders around the world, and like multi, puppy and coach said, it isnt all mexicans. so people werent traveling during covid like previously, I guess my point is I dont believe Trumps policies were the major reason migration was down

Only three days for an appointment yet expedited passports for American are taking over two months to process, appointments for Global Entry interviews at the few airports offering them, are booked two years out or no appointments available. I just applied for a “pet passport” from USFW for our tortoise and they sent an email stating to not even check the status online for 60 days.
Are these migrants coming from or headed to a 3rd world country?
Oh, ok, I get it…the delays are because of covid.
