Mine all just are for decor one day. My Dean will go in a shadow box with all my backstage passes from the Pantera glory days. When I ordered it it was because it reminded me of Dime’s D/FW days as that was his primary axe then in the 82-83 era. Oh so lucky to have been alive and a part of that.
Your Charvel sounds like mine. Just so easy to play and get anything out of.
As I mentioned, I have started the attempt to play again. I bought a Spark amp over two years ago and just took it out of the box. I may have to resign myself to not really being able to play going forward. Between my wicked arthritis and my brain not connecting with either hand, I fear any ability has expired. Maybe get it up enough to sit in on one or two songs here with these bands in town.
Hey man. Keep your head up. Mick Mars kept playing with bad hands, pretty much all his life.

You could always regulate yourself to chord strumming bon fire rhythm playin’!

Mad props to everyone that plays guitar. I've/I watch a lot of guitar playing content. Continually always blown away buy the skill it takes. I'm always impressed.

I love you post a Tele for a hard rock thread. I guess Jim Root and John 5 are Tele guys.

These guys are a new find for me. They sound like an amalgam of bands.

Never get tired of this:

Can’t wait for the new lamb of god album.
Tbh, I dont enough about guitars to recognize nick names. If you had said Telecaster, I'd recognize that. Im familiar with some brand names. Thats about it.
I tried playing but was never very good at it. 🤦😄
Ive never owned one either.
I listen to music, I dont watch it 🤷 I have no idea which guitars guys are using, I just love the sound.

Im like that with most things... I like boxing but I never cared what brand of gloves they are wearing, watched 1,000s of hours of football without ever noticing what brand of shoes they had on, watched 10,000 chicks asses as they walked by, never noticed the brand of jeans! 😄

I was just looking for a pic thst had a guitar and a glass of whiskey in it! Idk what kind if whiskey that is either!

I‘d be interested in that Charvel Tele of yours if it is a 80-90s. I had two Model 7s I think they called them, in blue and white. Neither were twangy Tele’s like the original. The only Tele I have now is a custom built Variax transplant with flame Koa top, mahogany body and bird’s eye maple neck. It looks incredible.
The only others I have are my main, a 1990 Charvel 475 Deluxe which I bought new (with Bill Lawrence pups given to me by a well known, deceased guitar player). It was white crackle but had it painted with holographic paint flames many years ago. Looks good under stage lighting but those days are behind me.
I have a 1973 hardtail Strat, a Dean FBD ML from the first pressing that I pre-ordered when Dime was still alive. It’s a case queen. Not even remotely my kind of guitar. The only other is a Chinese Charvel Desolation LP copy I bought for $200 here from a guy so I can one day put the Roland guitar synth I bought from another guy here for $200.

In 2009 I had 27 guitars, some cool ones like an ESP Kamikaze, the American made one of maple that weighed 25lbs, I swear. It’s on a Dokken tribute guy’s channel on youtube now. I had a Jackson Kelly which was a one off desert cammo with super light rosewood fretboard, two Carvin carved tops I had built, a cool American built Wasburn “murder weapon” hand painted by Scott Ian.
Yeah man, I used to be pretty flush. Lol!
Man, I can’t remember them all. But I started racing motorcycles and sold them off for racing funds.
I wish I had a camera phone back then because I’d love to have pics of them all.
The only names I recognized in there were: "Dokken" and "Scott Ian" 🤣🎸

What does everyone consider Hard Rock? Curious since there probably is varying opinions
Its diff for everyone I guess, to me the lines between metal and hard rock get blurry depending on the band and era.

For instance... its 1992
Guns N Roses was considered "Hard Rock"...
Megadeth was considered "Metal"...

But then you had 'Sweet Child of Mine' which is hardly HARD rock... and 'A Tout Le Monde" by Megadeth which was hardly Metal.

Now today, if you say "metal"... the average person is gonna think of death metal, demonic growling, 4,000bmp drums and an album cover of the grim reaper giving himself an abortion with a pitchfork. 😄

If it at least has guitars, drums & bass ... and some kinda balls... lets just call that hard rock.

If you can’t make out a single word then it has passed on to something other than “hard rock”. I can get down with some of it from an instrumental standpoint but sometimes the vocals ruin it for me.

Hell yeah! RATT still gets regular rotation in my world!
Bro, RATT is sick, I caught them down in Atlantic City last summer, They fucking killed it, Mad old rocker whores at those shows, Crue Fest produces some old saggy tits being pulled out too. But as with everything, It all gets softer and more controlled each year.

Fair enough. I don’t know what sportball teams play what sport or what city they are from other than through osmosis of being around the majority that do.
I never invested a single bit of brain to it. I get hung up on this category with trivia. I can usually win or do top 3 except when they start with any sports question.
I do care about details of things when I am interested in them. So I applied to music, biology and science and motorcycles and ashitload of other passing interests.

I felt that way for a long time, hated the “cookie monster” shit. But in 2007 I really listened to lamb of god closely and they became one of my favorites. Didn’t know what I was missing.

I call those old hags “porcupines”. If the had as many ON them as they’ve had IN them, they’d look like…

Lamb of God I consider to be one of the pioneers into that transition towards harder rock/metal. So it’s hard by concept, But they kept the instrumentals in order, It’s not just shit all over the place and multiple streams of distortion overlapping eachother. They are fucking awesome. I feel like Megadeth started the transition before LOG, So many band’s followed, Which is cool. I will also be referring to them as porcupines now as well because that is an accurate description. I remember being like 8 years old at shows with my dad seeing bikers getting blown in their seats. My dad taught me that when I stand up to let ladies pass by to there seats to stick my crotch out ever so slightly and get a little rub lmao, Not surprised I’m a monster now that I’m older. Good times

Bro, the worst part is when you get my age and ALL the “age appropriate” women are these. Especially the boozers down here in Cabo. Thankfully my slightly younger wife doesn’t mildly resemble them. Oh, she still might be a porcupine but at least not in outward appearance. Lol!

Same. I need vocals, not seizures and demonic possession blather. Lol

I can imagine dude. I’m 29 so I can swing low or high when it comes to age. I got some in the 50’s on the team, But it’s hard to spend a night with them when I got other options. Plus I give them some dick and they don’t stop calling. Then try to pimp me out to their other divorced friends. I’m not complaining but I’m sure you understand. Atleast I can hit them raw 🤘🤘

For me the best Motorhead album is the least known one. "Another Perfect Day" is way better than all the others.

I saw Warlock in 1985. I was living in Scotland and could see bands at little venues for less than $10 because the pound and dollar were almost equal.
I was at Donnington in 1984 and 1985. I think those tickets were around $15 (14 pounds to be exact). I was at Knebworth Fayre in 1985 when Deep Purple came back on the scene with Perfect Strangers. At that show was Meat Loaf, The Scorpions, Alaska, Mountain, UFO, Balckfoot, Mama"s Boys. I lost a front tooth when I got hit in the face with a bottle. A sign of the times, the first aid tent just steri stripped my split lip and sent me back out to rock. It was a miserable, rainiy day and up front the mud was a sucking down, 2' deep. Guys were losing their shoes in it left and right. They started burning everything in sight including the porta-potties. It was awesome in it's European savages type atmosphere. Like I said, lucky to have been my era.

Check this out:

These fucking line ups!!!!
