I agree. The same goes with raising children. We teach our children about life while our children teach us about ourselves. There is great suffering and pain in growing old and having children but that’s what makes raising a family worth it.

Lifting weights comes with a good kind of pain when you’re young or even middle aged. When each and every rep feels like something may snap even with perfect form and lighter weight it’s a different different kind of pain. It’s actually fear more than pain that a severe injury will occur without warning. The fear stems from multiple reoccurring injuries, spinal disease, rheumatoid arthritis. As a kid you hear old people when asked, “How are you, grandpa?” “My sciatica is acting up, knees are killing me, hemorrhoids are bleeding, hands drop things because of the damn arthritis.” As a kid you think, OMG, here he goes again. The funny thing is it’s all true. Getting old sucks old wrinkled balls. 😀 but life is a gift so suck it up and keep lifting.
