Listen to this advice OP. No oven…. It’s not needed and far too sketchy. Follow RDM… you should be fine.Heat up water in a mug in a microwave for 2 mins. Just enough to cover the vial half way.
Take the mug out it microwave and put the vial in the water. Make sure it is not submerged.
Let it sit for 30-60 secs and the take the vial out and shake it. Repeat until not crashed.
Yes this. But make sure to stick a syringe needle in the stopper to allow it to ventHeat up water in a mug in a microwave for 2 mins. Just enough to cover the vial half way.

Not necessary if you're just putting the vial in a hot mug of water. The water is not going to be hot enough to create enough pressure to burst the vial. If you were doing it on a stove top or in the oven as OP was thinking I would think you would want to vent it but I've never done it that way so can't say for certain.Yes this. The one time I did this the oil started pushing out of the vial through the needle.Yes this. But make sure to stick a syringe needle in the stopper to allow it to vent

Boiled water on stove top, then poured water into an 1 cup aluminum measuring cup. Guess the needle trick is to release trapped pressure from inside the vial, well the oil came with that pressure as well. Made a mess.…
What did you set the oven to?

Yeah sounds like you had it really hot. I just microwave about a half inch of water in a bowl for about a minute and then stick my vented vial in the bowl. The one time I did this the oil started pushing out of the vial through the needle.
Funny thing is, the gear stayed crashed lolYeah sounds like you had it really hot. I just microwave about a half inch of water in a bowl for about a minute and then stick my vented vial in the bowl.
I haven’t had to do this for crashed gear in many years but some labs brew DHB that needs to be heated to avoid PIP in my experience.
