My preworkout meal is also my first meal immediately after waking up.
I make oatmeal with egg protein powder, honey and a banana mixed in. Lots of carbs/protein roughly an hour or so before I tackle the workout. Gotta fill those muscles with fuel so they can tackle the load more easily.
Immediately after the workout, I hop into my truck and eat 6 eggs with a couple slices of Ezekiel bread, PB and another banana.

EDIT
Try to give yourself an hour between eating and working out to give your body time to digest the food. I find this helps immensely with preventing nausea while hitting the weights hard.

EXACTLY!!!
No food after an 8 hr fast (sleeping) Then training on no amino's/carbs in your system = Muscle loss.
Unless your fat, your body will eat that before muscle... But still, you hit the nail on the head with this post.

I feel protein in a pre-workout meal serves no purpose. Sure, it is good calories but the less that needs to clear your stomach before training, the better. So I shoot for nearly pure carbs. I am bulking now so I eat 100g of Rice Krispies and 250ml of whole milk about 1 1/2 hours before my workout.
Then when I drink my preworkout 30 minuntes prior to training, it goes down easy and clears my stomach fast. I currently add 1/2 scoop of Karbolyn into my pre drink.
I just started with an intra so I already have slosh gut by mid workout. Then the big post shake.
why rice krispies? What benefits do you see from them? The carbs? Just trying to gain some knowledge of good pre workout meals. I find that I can put my head down and power through my workouts no problem but I am wondering if I do a good pre workout meal it will have added benefits to the time I am putting in for working out.

I’m gonna give this a try. When you’re not bulking, what would you replace Rice Krispies and milk with?
I skip that meal. It is a seventh meal I add only during bulking.

I thought more about my original reply. I think in light of your just waking up and hitting the gym right away, I would add some protein. I suggest a hydrolysated version as it is as close to “predigested” as possible and quicker on uptake.
Depending on your weight of course, a scoop of protein and a scoop (or a half scoop) of Karbolyn. Add 2g of a good beta-alanine.
If you want to consume something other than water during your workout, you can use a complete intra.

They are almost a 1 for 1 weight/carbs. I think 100g dry weight is 90g carbs plus 8g of protein. They are very easy to eat, which is important to me as well. I HATE eating.

Todays BB they call that a meal... We called it a snack...
Haha, for sure. I'm in a deficit currently and dropping. When I started I was at least getting half a container which is 7 cakes lol.

My peri wo was even getting 125 g of carbs, now down to 0. And post was 150 carbs, now down to 75.
