Patients sue GLP-1 drugmakers, alleging severe side effects

3 ladies at the gym all went to the same Dr, the same plan ETC.
All in their early to mid 30's ... all had to go for immediate Cataract surgery
within weeks of each other. I haven't seen or heard anything about
their outcomes.

Like people say, the Dr's push a unreasonable amount to drive profits
which in turn could be the culprit.

An unbelievable 75% of sides were from slow gastric bypass that
didn't go away after stopping the medication.

That's enough to scare anyone, including myself.

Is there a link between dose amount & sides effect ?
Or length of use / cycle length?
Not sure, I do know that the Dr's will push a higher dose for
kickbacks from big Pharma. Which could be causing all these issues.
The 3 ladies at the gym, I don't know the dose they were on, but
they were there no longer than maybe 2-4 months on the stuff before
they all developed blinding cateracts.....I haven't seen them since.

I just looked up starting dose for semaglutide. Some links said 0.25mg to start & others said 2.5mg start😲😲!!
WOW!!
Thats a huge difference!!

I've been on tirz for 7 months now and I've had pretty bad eyesight since childhood. Hopefully I won't go blind, if I didn't so far.

I think it’s definitely dosage dependent. I’ve been doing a lot of research and the dosages the doctors are pushing is huge. Definitely gotta sell more drugs. As with any and all drugs i think the lowest dosage thats effective should be used. Dial the rest in with training and diet. Whether that be blood pressure, cholesterol or whatever.

Here is the thing: there is no drug without a side effect. What makes a drug effective is the ratio of effectiveness to side effects at a desired dose. Drugs that are more harmful that helpful eventually get phased out or outright banned. For the most part, anyways.

There are probably millions of people now on GLP1 meds. All of them dosing it without or with minimal issues. I'm going to make an educated guess is that these people suing over the side effects (such as going blind) were doing some ridiculously high doses. If you dose any drug high enough, you are going to see some unwanted effects.

The other issue to bring up is correlation is not causation. We don't know the medical history of the people filing the lawsuit. I'm going to say that quite a few are on numerous medications for other issues. Until there is clinical data to say that yes GLP1 meds directly caused the eye issues, it's totally speculation at best.

Can I sue QSC and other Chinese peptide manufacturers for my nearsightedness that just popped up in the last year?

I personally don't think this is a big issue. They allege alot of things, such as failed warnings of potential side effects being used off label etc. There is alot of "alleged". People have been ABUSING the stuff. Dr's will give them what ever they want. None going after the DR's. Easier just to go after the maker for failure to warn. With that being said, WAAAAYYY larger numbers than that having serious side effects and life threatening ones over alot of different drugs. Some being over the counter. I don't think that lawsuit will go very far. Would have to be alot of proof on dosages and etc. They will settle out of court and put new warnings out. All the people that filed suit will get a check for 25 bucks when the settlement is payed out. Be a drug user, not an abuser.
