So I have a strained muscle in my chest...really annoying, very tight. So what do you guys do? Stay away from upper body training all together to let it heal, or try and work around it? I pretty much always try the latter although I'm sure that may not be what's best. Of course I was just getting ready to run some primo..Getting order sucks!!

I strained my chest/upper pec/delt area not too long ago. I decided to keep off it for awhile. I did experiment with other grips and different pressing angles until I found something that felt good that I could push hard on without aggravating the initial problem. Within a month it’s good to go.

Rest up man! You’ll heal quicker that way and you’ll be back to grinding sooner. Just keep training everything else.
It only took me about thirty years of training to figure this out.🙄

I actually strained my pec when I first started training. Doing push-ups of all things.. it hurt so bad ..every breath I took was like a knife stabbing me. It took 6-8 weeks to heal.. it was not fun.

A little over 1 yr ago I sustained the worst chest injury you can, I had CABG surgery. Obviously i was out of the gym for 9 months. When i started back BPC-157 and TB 500 were very very helpful

Don't push it! I strained my rhomboid the other night and ended up in the ER at 0300...fuckin lidocaine injections up and down the whole length of the muscle, Toradol which is the definition of P.I.P., and Flexoril...which knocked the fuck outta me for 2 days! Take your time bro...my mind says I'm 26....my body convinces me I'm 59!

I had a cabg (quadruple with new mitral valve) on September 27...4 weeks later I was walking over a mile every day...I started lifting again the end of November about 8 weeks after surgery...it's now been 8 months and I am back to squatting 225x10 and benching 225x5...the worst pain I experienced was the cartilage that connects my ribs to my spine...when your chest is split open all of the rib cartilage in your spine gets ripped, torn, out of place etc...

Yup - I am experiencing the same shit Koolio. My sternum still aches, plus the cartilage is a bitch. I tell the wifey" BJs fix that ya know". Doesn't seem to work.
Good to know there's others in a similar boat. Young shitheads at the gym couldn't grasp why my weights had dropped 150 lbs on bench reps when I started back. Only stayed there for about 90days. Then I built my garage out.

My first month back lifting was all machines...the first time I barbell benched I barely got an empty bar for 10 reps...I could not maintain any type of groove...a week before my surgery I could wide grip chin 10 reps...I can't do one now...same thing with dips...I guess at 63 I should just forget about even trying some of those exercises...

BPC157 & TB500 would be worth a try.
If you can subq the injections close to the problem area all the better.
Good luck brother get plenty of R & R.

Appreciate all the replies and advice. So far, just taking it easy in the gym training other muscle groups. Haven't done anything at all that would agitate my chest issue. Getting older can be very humbling at times.

One great benefit I have invested in has been a massage buffer. Similar to a Thera gun thing but looks like something you’d buff car with. It’s perfect for when aches and pains appear. Recovery is huge as we get older

Was thinking of maybe trying some bpc157..
Yes to the BPC157. Pin it directly in the area of the problem. You can also use add TB500. You can find these peptides available blended. You also may want to research Pro-Resolving Mediators taken with an 81mg (Baby) aspirin. Lots of professional athletes are using the PRMs with baby aspirin after training to reduce inflammation. I've tried all the above & they all work well for this "old guy".

I find I have to do a lot more recovery work than I use to and a hell of a lot more warmup/stretching than I use to. I try to use a massage gun, foam roller or tens unit 10 minutes a day at least. On a recommendation I started getting massages, but I walked away from that feel like he beat me with a stick the entire time and it didn't feel any better than I did before.

Do it bro!!!! Bpc and tb 500 for 8 weeks healed a 2 year old shoulder injury completely and a 4 year old for injury for my fiancé. Shit is seriously a miracle. I will forever keep some In Stock for any injuries that come with what we do. Best decision I ever made. Just make sure u get from a good source bc I tried a couple diff ones and could tell a huge difference In brands.

Hello. Reading your success (and your replies) using BPC157 and TB-500 inspired me to buy some too! However may I ask what source you got it? I went to GymnTonic website but they only offer these as topicals. Imo pinning is far more effective than applying a cream. I would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you!
