Can someone explain to me what the 'Dimer' readings mean. I understand that its a method to measure proteins and it can be a sign of prolonged storage, improper storage or manufacturing conditions and is thought to reduced effectiveness the higher the dimer rating? This in turn would causing higher side effects, ie, joint pain, carpel tunnel, water retention, etc.

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Just asking for a definition in laymen's terms and what is an acceptable 'Dimer' reading?

dimer is when two molecules of HGH join together, decreasing effectiveness and more dimer is associated with more side effects. Dimer is technically HGH, so it doesn't get picked by a purity test as impurity, so it needs a separate test. It is one of prescribed pharma tests.

Thank you IL.

Is there an 'acceptable' level of dimer? At what reading is dimer considered unsatisfactory?

European Pharmacopoeia 8, which I have available and is effective from 1.1.2014, specifies maximum 6% permissible dimer and related substances of higher molecular mass for Somatropin for injection would be the cookie cutter response :) US Pharmacopoeia has it similar.

Cheers
