Get Shredded!
Hey guys, newbie here. Got out of the army over a year ago and got fat and out of shape. I'm 6'2 and 190 when I am in my prime, but right now I am 230. I have never been a weightlifter and when I was in the Army I was always a top 2% runner. I am tired of the way I have been living and decided to get in the gym. I wanted to prove to myself that I would be dedicated so I went to the gym for 30 days, every day and started running every other day around a mile. I started a journal for my fitness journey with strict documentation. I have been watching a ton of videos by Derek from More Plates More Dates and it seems like he can be a trusted guy and hes definitely intelligent. I plan on starting my first cycle beginning of April. Most likely just 200mg of Test-E per week. See how that goes after about 6 weeks. I tried gear when I was 20/21 with a friend and it went horrible, winnstrol and test, was fat and gained like 40 pounds because I thought I had to eat 5000 calories and 400 grams of protein per day. On my last day for my last pin, I hit a vein in my ass and vagal'd out. Parents took me to ER and doc said I had the liver enzymes of a 20 year alcoholic. (winny was oral). But now I am 28, more educated and more importantly way more cautious. I hope I learn from all of you and eventually get to contribute something to the forums one day. The pictures are of old me and current me.

P.S I hope this post wasn't too long.

Good luck bro. Honestly I tell every one. Gym is the east part. Diet for what your particular goals are, are the most important above all else. Don’t just rely on taking gear hoping it’s going to just melt the fat away. Really really focus on the diet. Time for a total lifestyle change. Hope to see an update in few months. You can do it. At gym. Go for 5 sets of 20. Lighter weight more reps. And no long rest periods. Don’t ego lift.

Little odd that’s you’re butt ass naked in the second pic, but okay. If you’ve been actually listening to everything Derek has to say, not just paid attention to what things you WANT to hear you’d know not to cycle at your current body fat. Keep working out and above all else do a 360 on your eating habits. Stay consistent in the gym for a year at least, that’d still be nowhere near your genetic potential that’s years out, but you’d be in a much better position than you are now to take anything.

Get the best results you can until you feel like you’re just not making any more progress and you’re giving it your all. Introducing test low dose. Will help you overcome that plateau. And really see a lot of changes. I agree to what he said for sure. Wish I did it that way. Because when you hit a plateau. You will have to start increasing dosages more and more. And that’s when sides start. Diet and lifestyle change is the most important. People think of you take gear. You’re going to make super human changes in a matter of weeks. It’s so far from the truth. For me. I’m opposite of you. I have very very very fast metabolism. I can take all the gear I want and not grow in size if I’m not eating enough. I have to force feed myself. Eat non stop thru the day. Take weight gainers. Everything. And I know I’m still not eating enough to be where I want to be. But it’s hard doing high rise construction in heat in Florida burning crazy amounts of calories. Eating enough is the hardest part for me. Gym is easiest part. And taking gear. And not eating enough to put the size on I want. Isn’t going to happen. You have to be serious. And really make a lot of changes in the way you live. Don’t expect to just drop 80lbs from running test and gain a lot of muscle especially if your not dieting properly.

Derek is annoying to me personally so good on you for being able to sit through those I guess. If I were you I would get blood work and see if you even have low T before doing gear at your extremely high BF percentage. The problem you’re going to run into is you are probably going to immediately get E2 issues and possibly Gyno fairly quickly if you don’t get blood very frequently and keep your Estrogen in check. Diet and lots of cardio first. If you can lose weight that way and get it reasonable then look back into gear: just my opinion. Best of luck to you.

Welcome bro 🤟 definitely got to get your diet in check before worrying about gear. If you want to eat good and enjoy what you are eating a daily basis I highly reccomend looking into Remington James on YouTube. I've been eating this guys shit for a few months now and it's easy to diet because I enjoy the food I'm eating daily. Good luck brother 👍

Welcome to ASF! As everyone is saying absolutely don't run a cycle at your current body fat. It won't help you and will in fact do more harm than good. You NEED to get lab work and see what your natural test level is. It's all up to individual response but 200mg per week is only a TRT (Testosterone replacement Therapy) dosage for most people. So if you have a normal test level now and you do 200mg per week you're going to shutdown your natural testosterone production to only have a similar testosterone level so you're not going to see any benefit. Now IF your labs indicate low testosterone then a TRT dose could definitely help you but it's not going to that big of an impact if diet and training isn't 100% dialed in.

You can buy your own labs online. Just Google private MD labs then based on which one you pick on their site you go to a lab Corp or Quest and have them drawn. Once the results are available they are emailed to you.

IF you have low testosterone then your next step should be finding a doctor that can prescribe you testosterone. There is a TON of things and I do mean a TON of things to know and learn to even consider running your own TRT. Just for starters you have to be able to read lab work, know what markers to watch while you're using X amount of test etc.

Honestly I think the best thing you could do is 1. Get lab work and 2. Hire a good coach and follow their diet and program to a T.

Wow! I never expected to learn and get this much advice this fast! After reading all the replies I will definitely get blood work done, stay off the gear until I lose the weight and put most of my effort into my diet! Thanks everyone for the advice. I’ll come back when I’m back down to 190ish with progress pics and updates and hopefully get some guidance from there. But it’s obvious what I need to do now! Thanks so much! I have no idea if you guys will even know I wrote this reply or what but thanks everyone.

Get Shredded!
Hey my man! Appreciate your service and Welcome to ASF! Very cool you posted honestly and we sure will help you along the way ! It’s been a while since someone seemed serious and admitted to past mistakes.

I have a funny not funny story , My cousin was 17 and jet set on using some depot testosterone so , I injected him and he passed the F out ! Luckily , I was able to hold him up with one arm . I just watched and made sure he came to. Everyone has had their fouls and miseducation but , sounds like you’ve lived and learned .

Time to Tighten up and get you going
