Instead of a one touch start button, you have to blow into a breathalyzer to start the car.

Thats dumb. If someone wants to drive drunk they will find someone to blow into it. Im not buying a car with an interlock. If it becomes the norm I’ll find away to disable it and I don’t even drink.

I feel the exact way!
I'll just drive a used car that does no have it. I don't drink either. It's been 20+ years.

I’ll just keep my truck running good. I don’t want anyone dictating anything I do. I’m a veteran and I’m retired now. I just want to be left alone and left to raise my kids the way I choose to and not have random devices put in my car or any other of my civil liberties infringed upon.

So you’re saying that someone will intentionally put a drunk driver on the road?

Those stupid devices don't work now. Can you imagine 100% of the populace having them? You would literally have tons of people across all work sectors not showing up for work because their car wouldn't start. How about the cop cars, ambulances, and fire trucks? Those getting them too? It will be real great when they are 30 minutes late. Or even your doctor that gets called in after hours?

People don't think shit through.

It happens all the time. Some People are enablers
They’re accessories to crime. If someone is killed by a DD they will be charged with vehicular homicide in the first degree for “enabling” a DD to commit the crime as well as responsible for civil damages. No different than providing a gun to a murderer.

Hard to believe anyone would do this.

It happens man. Interlock is BS and then if it malfunctions then you can’t start your car. Then you would have to have a tech come to your house to repair it to start your car.

From what I understand people that have drunk driving offenses. The courts mandate these be put in there cars if they want to continue to drive. It happend to one of my friends dad's when I was a kid. Why do we all have to suffer. Not to mention how much more the cars will cost with these installed in them. I hope it never happens!

Happens everyday. People go to their buddy's for a few cold ones. Drive home wasted. Their buddy never took their keys. People sit in a bar all day and then drive home. Bartender didnt take their keys. People hit the clubs until 4am and then drive home. Bouncer didn't take their keys.

If people want to drive drunk they will find a way. Is it a shitty thing to do? Absolutely.

I agree! Where there's a will there's always a way.

All these so-called safety features sound great and looks good on paper..
BUT
When people start getting killed due to malfunctions or systems going off-line..
Wait another 5 yrs and watch the death rate climb with EV's...
Those fucking cars are unreliable, unsafe and decades away from dependable..
Not to mention..death traps when they catch fire..
Grab one of those Orange cables..and You're Dead..!!

I feel doing nothing about a DD is different than when you start their car for them.
A bartender doesn’t walk you out and turn the ignition.
Regardless, DD is serious.

Makes as much sense as locking up paint and tools at Home Depot. Restrict or apply restrictions to everyone while only a fraction of a percent of the population are theives or drunk drivers.
People voting and wishing their rights away, further erroding freedoms still baffles me.
Do people not feel there are enough laws and restrictions already? Constantly adding new shit to make the the government MAKE us ”safer” computes in their small fucking brains.

They don’t even need to do that. The current devices can be defeated with a paper clip. Basically like hot wiring a car back in the good old days, but you’re jumping the wires on the back of the device, instead of the ignition.
