Get Shredded!
6 weeks ago I started TRT. When I was tested initially my free T was 86 ng/dl 😟. I just received my new results and it now 299 ng/dl 😁. Much better but I believe it needs to be higher. I'm 52 and have no energy, muscles always hurting like there not recovering and still no sex drive. I pretty much feel like crap. Does it take a while for the body to respond to test e. I'm doing 50mg x 2x week. Everything else was in range. My diet is good and working to make it better. TIA!

What where you pinning. How long did you draw blood since your last injection?

I have been pinning Test E 50mg 2x week for the last 6 weeks. This latest lab work was done on Monday. Trying to get my TRT to where I feeel better first before anything is added.

imo, the number doesn’t have much to do with how you’re feeling. how you’re feeling on trt matters more, but it’s a higher probability you’d feel better if that number was pushed up even more. imo, i would wanna see about 500-600 ng/dl for trt, but again that number is irrelevant, how you feel is more important.

No, he meant how long was it from the time of your last shot to the time of your blood work?

My Dr did say he's more concerned about how I feel versus the actual free test number. I have an appointment Friday. Will see what he does. This is all new to me.

Thanks guys!

if you’re new to trt, make sure to watch your hemoglobin, hematocrit(both red blood cell health markers), and HDL/LDL(cholesterol). the red blood cell health markers, if super high, can lead to nasty blood clots and many other problems. bad HDL/LDL will put you at a higher risk of heart attack. I’m not saying this to scare you in any way. in fact, i really think trt is a wonderful thing, just keep those basic health markers in mind. in my opinion, these (aside from your test levels) are the most important health markers trt can potentially mess with.

Good call on the health markers. With that being said I'd hope his doctor monitors all those markers for him. If the doctor is worth a shit he will. If he doesn't he is just writing scripts for a pay check.

To the OP I could definitely see you benefiting from proviron being added to your trt BUT it's early. You need to give it time and exhaust your options with your doctor before even remotely considering adding anything your self imo. See how your appointment goes and go from there.

Do you know what your total test is in addition to your free test? Estrogen?

lots of trt docs in the field just write scripts for checks. with trt, it’s very important that you also have the knowledge to know some basic health markers and their implications. a lot of those trt docs will spit on you and tell you it’s raining lol. to OP, if they prescribe you an AI, aromatase inhibitor, please be cautious. They will prescribe these things claiming you need them to boost their profit margins, and they’re actually super harmful. watch out for arimidex, letrozole, and aromasin. These are just a few of the many ones out there, but they seem to be more common. In my opinion, people on trt should strive to have a basic understanding of their own bloodwork. Also, AIs have a fair place in cycling steroids, but in my opinion, they don’t have a place in generic trt use. Best of luck & safe health. My PMs are always open!

I feel the best @800 to 1100. But I do a little more than 100mg a week. Usually 2- 250 a week. Just seems to work the best FOR ME. Everyone's different and reacts a little different. Good luck man.( takes time to get dialed in imo).

My Estradiol was 16.93. This doctor I have seems like he cares about my overal health. Will see.
I also want to educate my self. I dont trust to many doctors. I want to be the one in charge.

Personally I would have started higher then 100mg week. At least start at 150mg per week split into 2-3 doses. Then I would inject into muscle (shoulders and glutes) instead of subq. You can still use 1” insulin needles. Most people prefer into muscle and I know very few people that do subq. These are just opinions but probably 90% to 95% of the people on these forums recommended when I searched myself.

There is 2 schools of thought with trt docs.

Start low and titrate up or start high and titrate down. I'm like u I'd rather start a bit high and go down for faster improvement of low T symptoms.

@Powerhousehb Are you on test E or Test C? My curiosity needs satisfied on something. Isn't important at all bc they are so similar. Just for my curiosity.

@Matt88 I'm on Test E. Its seem Test C is more common. I would have preferred to have started high and lowered the dose. To feel better quicker but that's not how my dr wants to do things. Thats actually what I suggested to him.
