so unfortunately i lost my latest job which allowed me to eat whenever i needed to. i picked up a new job that is crazy busy and during an 8 hour shift ill be lucky to get even one meal in... i dont want to have to resort to shakes and protein bars but it looks like i might have to.

any of you guys work crazy jobs that dont allow time to eat every 2.5-3 hours? if so how do you overcome this?

You get a 15 min break every 2 hours. Unless your Mexican.

Meal prep, sneak off and eat. I only get a 30 minute lunch every 10 hour shift. I still manage to eat 5 meals while at work.

I'm a bartender. Scheduled breaks don't happen in the restaurant biz. I grill up chicken thighs and take them to work. I know they are fattier than breast, but they are a quicker chew and choke.

^^^this.

You have to be creative. I've had jobs like this. Prep easy to eat meals. Sneak away. Say you have to take a dump. Eat fast.

May not be fun. But assuming it's difficult to get a better gig, without that job, you won't have money for food.

1. Protein Shakes. Bring 2 with you, mix them with liquid egg white. A ton of Protein.
2. Boiled Eggs. Easy to eat.
3. Grilled Chicken Strips, but cut them into 1 inch cubes or 2 inch. Just what ever is easier to grab and throw in your mouth.
4. Steak. Do the same with the chicken strips, cut them up into small pieces so you can just grab and throw in your mouth.
5. Grill Burger patties. Just eat the burger a little bit at a time, or cut them into small pieces.

I had to do this working at a warehouse, had 2,15 minute breaks and 1, 30 minute break. But worked 13hrs nightly or even longer sometimes depending on the Holidays.

Excellent point on 3 and 4 above. The smaller the piece of meat, the less time you are chewing.

Snacks also help. Nuts for example can be kept in a small can in your pocket.

Several small containers with 4-6 eggs and cream.
Takes 30 seconds to chug it down.
I carry mine in a cooler with ice packs.

I buy frozen precooked chicken tenders and pack portions in ziplock bags. I usually pack them frozen and they thaw in my cooler. I also carry lots of hard boiled eggs, cut up fruit and veggies in bags also. Any finger food I can "fit" into my diet and carry to eat on the go.
This is a chore for sure but you should be able to manage it. Employers will let smokers take 5 to burn one, they shouldn't bitch much about eating an apple. If they do your boss is an ass.

There the liquid food thing going around where your meal is drank. No solid food. If I remember right Sheriv was going to try it.
Would help supplement.

Do you get to use the bathroom ? Bam take a tub and a spoon and bang it out . I run a crew and work out of my truck . I find myself just shoveling it down between jobs . Were talking a 6oz of chicken, rice or beans or something . You can eat in a couple of minutes . I am about to do the meal prep journey myself .

You can do this. Like I
Said, depending on what calories you want I can outline and meal plan for you. I have all my old stuff written down and saved. I'm like a wizard on Sunday's. Meal planning and eating right is 90% of the work. 10% is training hard :)

Recalculate your meals and split into 4 meals. I have to do this every now and then. I also have days where I'll get up 2 hours earlier just to get my meals in.

Here is a recipe for you.

Get a top round steak, also called a Porterhouse. With that, you need two cloves garlic, a third shallot, half cup olive oil, half cup apple cider vinegar. Dice the shallot and garlic, mix with the oil, and vinegar. Grab a large Tupperware container and place the steak and marinade in together, turn every 20 min. Rub the meat with said marinade like it owes you money. Let it sit at room temperature, or in the fridge if you will be away for more than two hours. Fire up your grill on high, sear both sides for 6 minutes each, let it rest for ten minutes. Slice against the grain thinly. Know you have a tasty protein snack for three to four days. If you don't have a grill buy a cast iron pan, get it as hot as you can. Rub the steak with olive oil, and sear both sides for one minute. Finish in the oven at 400-500 degrees for 9-12 minutes.

Note. The apple cider helps break down the fat and sinew in the meat. Leaving you flavor and not as much fat.

I cant get myself to eat as much as you tranny loving, brown eye pick fans. This is all I can contribute.

Also. One pound of porter house=60 grams protein.

Peace bitches.

That's old school bodybuilding nutrition. I remember Vince Gironda being notorious for the eggs and cream mixture. He'd often recommend up to 1-3 dozen eggs daily for short periods of time.

thanks for all the help, lots of good tips in this thread. this week i decided to boil around 10bls of chicken and pull it into strips, and bring about 2lbs with me to work, no sauce or anything like that just so i can just pick at it dry when i dont have time to do something with it. i work in a kitchen it gets pretty busy. when its not ill cook up a bunch of veggies and make a big stir fry or put the chicken into a wrap. ive been bringing peanuts and other easy pocket food as well. im not one to rely on whey powder but i just ordered a tub so ill start bringing that mixed with egg whites a few scoops of peanutbutter and some oatmeal. i used to do that at one point, its like a high calorie mass gainer but i actually know whats in it

I had a job busy as shit like yours before. I would take prepared meals into the bathroom with me and scarf that shit down in 15 minutes. They can't deny you a bathroom break.

You I'm not all jacked like many of you. Working in the restaurant biz for twenty years. The fitness people don't get the breaks, we are fit correct? It's the smokers, I was one, and the addicts who need a little fix to get through the night. Not to mentioned the hot server/hostess who is the office sucking cock for 15 min., three times a night!

This is all awesome advice. Now question:

My job in particular, i work in an operating room and am scrubbed in and sterile. Once im scrubbed in i cant leave the room nor can i touch anything but what's on my back table and the patient. I've had days where im scrubbed in the entire 8 hours minus my 45 lunch. Now if im trying to lose weight would it just be safe to eat right before and right after my shift? Or am i in danger? And what foods can i eat where it won't overload my system but will get me through the day until i can get out of my room? The only time i can pee is in between cases (i have 5min while they turnover my room until i have to set up for the next surgery) and my lunch.
