I met Coleman back in 2002 in Florida. He was still massive back then. The guy I was cornering had the same locker room as Wes Sims who was fighting Marcus Silveira in the main event and Coleman was working Sims' corner.
After the show a bunch of us were hanging around with him in a bar for a few hours. Out of all the mma fighters that I've met he and Tito Ortiz had to be two of the nicest guys out of all of them. Ken Shamrock, who I saw beat the hell out of Mark Hall backstage at King of the Cage, was another story...
i got the same type of story
went to king of the cage in 2001
tito and ken were both there sitting about 5 seats apart, one row down from me
ken was a total dick , sending little kids away who wanted autographs
tito was all smiles and signed everything for every kid and shook peoples hands all night
total blew my mind that when they fought, ufc made tito out to be the bad guy
