Get Shredded!
With a heavy heart I must inform all of the members here that Big Lou passed away today in the presence of his loving family. He is in Heaven with his Lord and savior. Just last Monday he told me.... "I KNOW where I will go, to my saviors side not because I am any better than the next guy but because I have believed in His name!".

This man became my great friend, mentor, confidant and truly an inspiration to me. Lou, I will always cherish our relationship, and I will never forget you.

I love you, and some day I will (hopefully) be up there with you. Looking forward to hitting the iron in that gym in the sky with you.

RIP Big Lou

i have sat here for 5 minutes thinking of the right thing to type....and still revert back to my initial thought....i respected Lou alot but i respect him a whole lot more over the last few days...he died like a man with character and faith should..no gawdy posts or FB stuff looking for sympathy....he knew with confidence he was going too meet his maker and only he needed too know that....

You will be missed Lou but never forgottenn...for a man with character and integrity will always be on somebody's mind..

I'm so sorry, jd. You are a better man for knowing big Lou. I wish I had had the pleasure of knowing him. The strange thing is I feel like I lost a friend today and I didn't even know big Lou. I guess that just goes to show the influence that he had on many of us. This is a sad day.

Would anyone be interested in creating a tribute banner for big Lou that we can display in our signatures? Maybe something with some nice words and a picture of him or something. Just a thought...

RIP Lou. I made it an habit of reading every post and thread that he wrote in knowing I would learn something each time.
With the utmost respect, may I ask if someone could tell me how old Lou was?

Lou leaves behind a legacy of honor, truth, integrity, bravery and faith. He was most definitely a very humble man. A true man of God. I will truly miss him. RIP Big Lou <3

"His lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things: enter you into the joy of your lord."
Matthew 25:23

I will not say "good bye".......rather, "see you later".

S2H said it best. He died like a man. He made no secret of his cancer, but it was never the focus of his conversation. He just looked for ways to help. Out of the blue one day months ago he PM'd me and expressed respect, and cracked a joke and gave me real good advice and put things in perspective. "It's a marathon not a sprint and you want to do this for the rest of your life if you can. I know I do."

I hope this is not considered to be in bad taste but there's a joke I tell a lot, and since that conversation with Lou I think of him everytime I tell it. It was that kind of straightforward solid and honest advice with a smile that I'll remember.

We lost a wonderful man and a brother in the iron but God gained a great warrior today. God's child came home. RIP Big Lou. My prayers go out to his family.

This is just terrible to hear. And as always in situations like this, too soon. I know he thought of many of us as friends. Strange the closeness that exists on the board even though our actual identity's are kept secret.

Lou, was a great man. With wisdom and an outlook on life i hope to one day match. Lou, I am going to miss you very much. RIP brother. Love you big guy. I hope you feel better and at peace in heaven.
