I’m officially on TRT, question about baby aspirin

Hey fellas,

I got setup with my TRT doc this week and getting the ball rolling on that front.

He told me to begin a baby aspirin regiment and so wanted to get thoughts on this. Is this something many of you do for TRT? My first thought is to wait and see what Hematocrit and Platelets look like along the way and react if needed rather than just jumping on the aspirin plan with the potential bleeding/ulcer risks over time. But I’m also thinking that platelets numbers aren’t reflective of their “stickiness” if that makes sense so I suppose Hematocrit is all we could keep an eye on either way?

Again, just looking for additional thoughts as I make this decision for myself.

I started talking baby aspirin when I was 44 to help with blood flow. Anabolics raise blood cell count RBC some more than others. At that age and I’ve been doing anabolics for awhile. One 81mg aspirin every day.

Yeah, I'm not sure how much the whole "triple buffered" or whatever helps. I think the biggest issue is that people were taking them all the time, back in the day. Day in and day out aspirin for pain relief. So yeah, ulcers and bleeding issues. I don't think baby aspirin is an issue...the difference between medicine and poison is dosage.

Do you ever wonder if the half life of aspirin is important to the equation? I'm not saying you're wrong with what you're doing, it's just something that I question myself. Hence why I do AM and PM dosing. I have zero knowledge if that helps or not.

yeah I have but if I don’t take them shortly after waking I won’t remember to take them at all. Lol

but… yeah I should split them throughout the day as with pretty much everything it’s probably more effective to do it that way.

I'd let the aspirin and TRT run for 3 months and repeat labs..see how your body responds,betting you will be fine..The TRT has to be dialled in to the Person,one size doesn't fit all..

Note...
At 40 you are a better than average healthy person..If you want to be the same at 50...the work is in nutrition,proper training to reduce injuries and compounds that don't cause problems..Yet things can pop UP..so listening to what the body says and regular labs is a total Must..

I would bring talk about your concerns with your provider. If you're opposed to taking aspirin you could request to do a coagulation study once you're at your therapeutic threshold to see if it's needed.

Jimme, I went to a hematologist Monday. My ferritin is tanked (blood donations every 8 weeks for a year - not recommended) and I have Polycythemia (caused by AAS and sleep apnea).
With that said, if you're gonna start TRT, begin with as low a dose that helps you, ie, 100mg per week. Stick to that and redo lab work to see where your numbers are. Stay hydrated, as that will affect your H&H.

The orange ones do, there’s other flavors as well. I’m with Max though, kids shouldn’t be taking aspirin especially for fever so I think they still flavor them for us big kids lol
