Yeah, I hear you bro but it's the only thing I have access to right now. I'll shoot 20ius at 3:30 on the DOT and that second Spike will hit me at 7:00.. so easy to tell though just start sweating like a mother fucker, time to eat!
Yeah dude, it isn’t hard at all to control. You just have to know when you peak and have carbs on you while you’re learning.

I guess you could say I’m always “chasing my carbs”, as I use Novolin r. In the morning, I try to get it to cover my first two meals. Preworkout, I take it with my preworkout meal and then sip carbs throughout my workout to keep BG in check.

Obviously, the way I got to my insulin dosage, timing, carb intake etc was by excessive monitoring with a BG meter.

I wake up every morning with fasted BG of ~80. Very seldom go low unless something goes drastically wrong in my day (stuck in traffic etc).

You’re not going to die unless you’re fucking retarded using insulin. Oh, let’s load 100iu instead of 10iu — yeah you should go to the hospital. But typically, you’re just going to be seriously uncomfortable for a bit.
Correct, if you're actually not a diabetic your body produces other hormones that will raise your blood sugar besides insulin. I always say that you literally have to be a fucking retard to die from this shit

I’m pretty sure Jay Cutler said he was doing 1000 carbs a day during his tenure as Mr. Olympia. So you’re eating 50 percent more carbs than him?

It literally dumps glucose from your liver when you go hypo. Glucagon turns glycogen into glucose.

It ain’t gonna be pleasant, but without diabeetus, you’ll likely be fine.

How the hell did Novolin r put you in the hospital man? I feel like you either shot an insane amount or like just purposefully didn’t eat carbs when you started to crash.

Wait, you eat 1500g of carbs in one meal?
500 in the 1st meal, 1500 in the 2nd meal

Fuck novalin r. that walmart shit put me in the hospital from the 2nd crash. only lantus and novorapid for me. No lantus right now tho. I fast so I only use novorapid since I only eat 2 meals of 500 carbs and 1500 carbs
Isn't novorapid faster acting that novalin?

Get Shredded!
taking slin before meal is the right way

as long as your sticking to your meal plan and eating the set amount of carbs your supposed to eat you wont get fat

match your slin dose to your meal... 10g of carbs per 1iu

poeple think they need to eat more or extra carbs while on slin but thats not how you do it

your supposed to keep carbs the same that you have set on your plan and match your dose to that

10g/iu is not a hard and fast rule.

If you want to get big, you have to push your insulin and carbs. Plain and simple.

your missing the point... i didnt say you dont have to push

i said make sure your slin dose matches your carb intake...
if your plan says eat 1000g of carbs per day go for it but make sure your taking the right amount of slin with it

If you are diabetic your liver still releases glucose like non diabetics.

And I'm joking, I have more experience than probably anyone here using it, and you're foolish to use it if you don't have the beetus. It can put you in the hospital, coma or dead. And even though your liver puts out glucose it may not be enough to counter act the low. And when I say that it can put you in the hospital etc. that doesn't mean the insulin will, but what can happen when you go low and it effects your brain and what you are doing.

If you are using it you should have a glucagon emergency kit.

rapid is aspart with 10-20 minute onset and peaks 1-3 hours
novalin is a NPH with a 1-3 hour onset and peaks 4-12 hrs
the problem with novalin r is that is spikes twice. Novorapid is quick when shot IM. When I used to IV novorapid that shit was insane. Literally you would eat and your blood glucose would drop in minutes.

That sounds more like Novolin n in my experience. R kicks in in about 30-60 minutes with peaks at 1.5 and 3 hours approximately. Lasts about 4-6 hours.

Karbolyn holds me over until dinner. I’m neurotic though — I always have carbs on me just in case.

I got stuck in traffic one time when I first started Novolin r, and I was feeling woozy after the gym. BG was 44. Thankfully, I had some carbs in the car, but I was a bit nervous.

Now I always got karbolyn and candy on deck… the candy is definitely just for emergency purposes lol.

I’m lazy. Novolin r is $25 from my Walmart. I will likely be switching to lantus and novolog when I get my plan from my coach.
You dont need a coach. No one knows what compounds and foods work best for you. No I agree, peaking for a show is a different story

Eh, I don’t need a coach, but it’s a nice to have. I haven’t had one yet officially, but I finally pulled the trigger. I found a pro who’s local to me and willing to give me the time and attention needed. I’m hoping he can help me structure my diet better.

It’s also super important to have a coach learn your body in the off-season before going into a prep. With that said, I’m going to gauge after the first couple months and see if it’s actually worth the money.

That’s a good way to get hospitalized. When you are on iv insulin you are sent to the ICU for close monitoring.

Question. If you can only digest about 60 protein and 140 carbs at a time why eat 1500 carbs at once? Wouldn't it make more sense to split it up into hourly or 2 hour meals. Wouldn't eating more then u can digest lead to dissented stomach as your not digesting everything you took in? Shaw smashed like 14 hamburgers in a video so I know mass eating is possible but I didn't think it was a good idea for those trying to get the X shape.
