What would have you done ?
At times, I get frustrated and fantasize dropping out and get myself employed in fitness... industry...work as a personal trainer for a while before I start my own UGL.

Meds scholl pays better I would imagine but you will be in more debt due to school cost. Working in the fitness industry. I dont know how that pays. I'm sure some of the guys here that are coaches will chime in here. It's always good to having something solid to fall back on just incase. It also depends on what your priorities are.

Med school all day, just stay away from Diagnostic radiology for sure and I don’t think I’d go into anesthesia. AI will probably take over radiology and CRNA’s will probably do most of the anesthesia.

Honestly I wish I never got involved in bodybuilding, so easy choice.

if youre seriously considering that, you should drop out. making $30k a year training lazy house wives and old men, or being a doc?
not a hard decision

Finish med school you may have a better understanding of how to brew 🤷‍♂️ seems like a win win to me

Doctor 10 out of 10 times you can also work on your body while you are a doctor. then you have doctor friends and easy access to meds LOL

Hmmm, let’s see.
Legitimately great career that opens doors to everything in life you could want in a fantastic future….
OR
Illegally making steroids in your kitchen to sell to a bunch of hobbyist gym guys and then risking your freedom by selling them.

Decisions decisions hmmm.

Good post tommygunz. Stay in school bro! Unless you train celebrities or you know or are a part of a rich club you won’t be happy. And UGL will only last so long and no retirement plan and always worried about getting busted. Medical field is a great career path stay in.

Go to school young man.......You can still train....
OR
If you have that 1% special genetics it takes to make a living at the sport.... Then I say follow your dreams.
I personally worked through the majority of my BBing career in the medical field and working for a large Electrical supply company.... wasnt until I was in my 30's that I started training people out of my home gym
and my Ex was making good money to...Then a divorce.....Back to work....medical field again...
Then I said fuck it... took out a biz loan and the rest is history.

Do what I did

I got a job in the medical field that paid for advanced training and classes during work hours

I used to get paid to be taught by RNs and other medical professionals while working daily

It was stressful .it was hard. But it paid off.

I did it before I had kids or women in my life.

I dont think I could have done it w kids or women. 😜

2 deadends. 🤷
BUILD something.

Do you have a true passion for one thing you simply cant not do? Or are you just bored with the grind of med school and imagining <less> greener pastures in the fitness industry?

Unless you have a single clear answer for the first one, my advice is suck it up and get the PHD. Whatever years you have left may seem like an eternity right now but take it from an old fart, its nothing in the grand scope of your life

Even if you dont go into practice the Dr in front of your name will carry a lot of weight in any fitness related venture you choose to go in

I worked for a hospice company for years, providing equipment, medical supplies, teaching the families how to use them . I don’t know how people in the medical field do it . That shit wrecked me emotionally , I walked into the office and told the owner hey fuck this I quit after years with him . Blows my mind how athletes and musicians make RETARDED money and nurses, emts, etc struggle like the rest of us.

Wife’s close friend works in the NICU, bless her soul. I’d be in prison for murder after a day in there

I don't know how far along you are but maybe consider a MD Ph. D. track. That way you can practice medicine and do research. Typically they get higher pay as professors and the research industry by and large. With your interest in endocrine it could be a nice move but it all depends on your interests and personality really. I contemplated med school but went the Ph. D. route and it has paid off. MDs are much more arrogant on average and at this point are pimps for big pharma and large medical insurance industry. It's worse than when I was looking at it by an order of magnitude.
