Get Shredded!
Confessing this now because I want to know how much of a sin I have committed or if it's not that uncommon.

Long story short, I've struggled with excruciating abdomen cramps whenever I try to work my abs. I do one set....maybe 2 and next thing I know my top and bottom abs meet each other and I'm literally sucked into the fetal position while dealing with knives stabbing me in the stomach. Sometimes it passes quick, sometimes it lasts 10-20 mins. The pain is unexplainable.

For this reason....I have given up on abs altogether. It's been probably 2 years since my last ab workout. I've tried everything from electrolytes (potassium, sodium), magnesium, taurine....no help whatsoever.

I still have a decent 6 pack when I'm lean.

Give it to me straight guys......am I a disgrace to the bodybuilding community?

That's happened to me once so I know what you mean and it lasted about 5 good mins. But since yours are so regular have you ever tried them hanging?

I only did abs like 12 weeks out of a year when I was seriously training and competing. You hit your abs pretty hard, indirectly on quite a few exercises. Triceps push downs is one where your abs stabilize you, squats definitely hit your abs pretty good and there are others. So, I would start hitting abs directly like 12 weeks out. And, alot of times I had the best abs in my class. So, no, I don't think it's a big deal at all

No shit I get the exact same thing. I did 10 crunches 2 days ago and that was all I could handle. First time in months.

Its a shitty feeling

Common knowledge, abs are made in the kitchen. I don't target them at all. But Ive been running this keto diet along with a couple wet compounds and Im starting to look lean AF. Abs showing through nice. I hit everything real heavy. I have for years. My core is strong.

Nothing bad happens to me when training abs, but the avatar at left is me with no ab training. I am not sure anybody really needs to target them with specific training. Most people I see training abs just need to lose fat.

That was me last night, happens a lot. I do abs last and if I start feeling that cramping feeling I know it's time to walk away or I won't be walking for a bit.

I like my abs to be thicker and my obliques to be developed. Not over-developed and I'll back off if I feel in getting blocky or wider. I have to train them but really only hit them hard when I'm lean.

You ain't training them right. Hanging leg raises on the pull up bar, legs together, feet to bar nice and slow. Weighted decline sit ups, full contractions and straight back. Try those and get back to me.

Tried everything my man. This has been an ongoing issue for several years. Tried all variations of ab workouts....def not that uncommon based on the responses I've gotten.

Wow that's awful... you tried stretching every which way, twisting, backward arching yoga poses, etc?

I kinda wonder if some muscle is impinging hard on nerves given that sort of pain. 10-20 mins from just a set or two? Hard to fathom that it's electrolytes or similar sort of thing, but who knows. Sounds more like what ruptured disc people endure, when vertebral nerves get pinched. You gotta solve the mystery man, ask a sports doc!

Whenever I'm fucking and I'm on top, I can feel my abs firing and contracting. Does this count?

I never do abs. Literally never. Abs are made in the kitchen and the bedroom. Check my avi, proof is in the pic that you don't have to train abs to have a killer abs.

Have you tried vacuum exercises for abs? Found that helped me.

If you do real squats and deadlifts weekly there shouldn't be a huge displacement of strength. The main core lifts some right use abs. Idk about bench press really. A lot of DB excercises incorporate abs too

I really hate doing abs, ive done probably 6 sets in the last year if that. The only time i really ever do them semi consistnely is when im dieting. And I dont cut often. I really should do them more in the offseaon when im bulking and theyre primed to really grow but i just hate doing them.

They have to be implants. I know my six pack looks a bit off from the bullet hole scar and the incision scar that goes from my belt line to my sternum but those are bizarre.
