I’ve got to think this is regional not national. I just drove from VA $3.69, through WV, MD, PA into NY, to visit my mom. It was +- 5-10 cents the whole 450 mile trip.
Definitely, Texas it’s 3ish at least western Texas. Arizona high 3s into low 4s California 4.80-6.49 highest I saw near the beach.

I drove from CA in may to VA and the cheapest I saw was Oklahoma, it was $ 3.15.
A good bit has to do with state taxes. When I lived in CA they had the highet (almost .78 a gallon).

That’s pretty high. It pissed me off when I was there and people were hurting AND the state had a budget surplus but wouldn’t even think about a gas tax holiday. Next they will be switching from summer to winter blend for an excuse to gouge or the refinery maintenance game will be deployed.

I'm lucky I don't work to from from my house. Since I drive a Tahoe and it drinks the gas but it very comfortable and only a couple years old. But I agree. I really do not know any people that are not paying the minumum on there bills and juggling things just to get buy. Paycheck to paychek. The state only cares about it self not the people.

My Jeep SRT only runs on 91 octane. I cant put the cheap stuff in it. Wife has to use 91 also per the manufacturer.

That was a choice you made. I wouldn't buy a vehicle that had special fuel requirements if cost was an issue. Regardless of grade the cost spread seemed uniform through out my travels, although I don't pay attention to grades I don't need to buy.

I've usually found the higher cost of higher octane was offset by the higher mileage per gallon. My old truck would get 3-4 more miles per gallon on the good stuff. Roughly 20-25% improvement over the cheap gas, depending on town/highway miles. Which meant I would save money in the long run by using premium. People never seem to take that into consideration.

5.79 yesterday...

Caused a fight between me and my wife. she says I need to plan my fill ups better.... She is right. I paid a dollar more than I needed to if I would have found one of the cheaper gas stations in town. COSTCO GAS FTW

you realize most cars these days require premium gas. super high compression ratios are the reason and if you really look into it, you'd be surprised. Not just "specialty cars". Every day soccer mom cars and trucks, nevertheless performance cars like Heavy's

Understandable.
Mine however does not require it so I don’t buy or look at the price for it.
I simply posted my latest gas price paid like the thread title says.
