I wanted to share the needle setup I’ve been using. I attached a few pictures so you can see the size difference between the needles and what the supplies look like laid out.
Since the end of January I had been doing my TRT and the rest of my compounds subQ, but a little over a week ago I switched to IM and it’s honestly been way better for me. For me, the IM shots have been less painful than subQ because I’m not getting those little sore oil deposits afterward.
The setup I’ve been using is a 1 mL syringe, a 25 gauge 1-inch needle (orange) to draw, and then a fresh 30 gauge 1-inch needle (yellow) to inject. If pain is what makes you nervous, the 30 gauge has been about as close to pain-free as I could ask for.
All the KGear oil I’ve used has been thin enough to go through the 30 just fine, and even thicker oil like my Masteron still pushed through okay. It took a little longer, but we’re talking seconds, not a big deal.
One thing I’ve really liked is using one needle to draw and a different fresh one to inject. To me it feels like the needle can get a little less smooth after drawing, so putting on a fresh one for the actual injection seems to make it easier and less painful.
Not saying everybody has to do it this way, just sharing what has worked better for me. If somebody is nervous about IM because they think it’s automatically going to hurt more, that really hasn’t been my experience.
The main thing I would say is don’t just guess on injection location. Make sure you actually know your landmarks and the proper site before trying it, especially with glute shots.
These are the supplies I’ve been using:
25 guage 1 inch - https://a.co/d/08DpOhGb
30 guage 1 inch - https://a.co/d/0jcA8zAc
Syringes - https://a.co/d/0h68umjs
Alcohol wipes - https://a.co/d/06FC6lfO
Hopefully this helps make IM look a little less intimidating for anybody who was unsure about it.
