I was wondering if there was any advice on how to find a doctor that is even willing to do trt? I am in the market to find one but don't really want to go in and be like hey will you give me a perscription.

How did you go about asking the dr? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Walked into a low t clinic and had low t. After using the clinic and talking about what I didn't like about the clinic over the course of a year and her seeing my labs (the ones I wanted her to see anyway) my PCP agreed that she and I could do it more responsibly. Most people I know just use a clinic though.

You could be very honest and ask for a script...and after a blood test you may get one.

If you want to avoid asking, then you have to describe a person with low test to the doctor. Telling the doctor you are tired often, sometimes depressed, low sex drive and difficulty with erections, they should be able to figure out that maybe you have lower than normal testosterone. And then they should run a blood test.

Problem is that if you are not actually low enough, then they wont do much for you.

I know if they took a blood test on me after using my ugl test prop while going into PCT, they would probably see very low levels.

Also, the doctor should probably be one of those anti-aging type doctors who are open to trt.

Do you have low T or suspect that you do ? If so find a urologist or endocrinologist or any of the many places that do HRT now . Where I live everybody is doing it , even little walk in clinics . Tell them you feel you may have low t . describe the symptoms . Doctors go by symptoms and labs or other diagnostics . He will do labs . If you are low enough he will put you on HRT . Usually it is a conservative dose at first . Then after a few months and more labs the dose is adjusted . Most doctors do labs every 6 months after that .

I did until I started using PL last month. I have to find a new doctor for other things so if I can kill 2 birds with one stone I would rather do that. Also, when I go in if they are ok with TRT then I will be more comfortable telling them I am currently taking test.

I would be very cautious about telling any doctors about using test on your own . many HRT doctors after finding out you are using AAs will drop you like a rock . Also it could be included in your medical records which could be a problem . I would have to know a doctor for some time before confiding info like that and even then you can't be sure of the outcome . I def would not just go into a doctors looking for HRT and then announce that I am using test .

All good advice and I'll add: When I went to the doc with all these sides, he suggested hypothyroidism. I didn't know the difference and read up on it, it sounded good. After T3 readings came back normal, he medicated me based on symptoms of hypo and after this wasn't working "I" suggested Low T, he jumped on that, and sure enough it was low. 1, you could be low T and if the numbers match, run with it. 2, if the numbers come back normal, don't be so quick chasing the wrong rabbit like my doc did at first. Low T IS the leading cause, but not the ONLY cause of feeling like crap. (My doc was the opposite blaming thyroid function on all of life's failures as we know them)

My wife and I are shopping for a new PCP. (Boy am I old, that acronym meant something else in the late70's, early 80's). I am debating about mentioning to the Doc about my using a mail order TRT clinic. Did you come clean right away with your Doc?

Come clean about what? I was on legit trt. It was an online trt clinic but I went to a real doctor's office got the tests he ordered and had a legitimate script. I did not like the fact that my doc was just pushing drugs and not monitoring my health. That is why my pcp agreed after sometime to take over. She is a good doctor and my health matters to her.

Having said that, see Lou's post for my feelings on how I address my doctor. The whole reason I use a real doctor and deal with the hassle and expense is because I had a real need prior to aas use. Blasting came after. I like having a doctor watching my back, having access to pharmacy grade ancillaries, and being able to travel with my meds. Aside from compound specific side effects, any problem that AAS use might cause applies to trt as much as it does anything else as far as long term issues. I realize aas use is a potential long term risk so I like having a doctor specifically watching for those things. I get my own bloodwork for blasting, but I'm not a doctor.

My PCP is much more open minded than my trt specialist was, for instance she gave me asin when I asked instead of adex because I have lipid issues. My insurance pays for most of this. At the same time I am not gaming my doctor for drugs. My trt is my trt. My blasting is separate. My trt protocol calls for 100mg/wk and 750iu of HCG divided with small doses of asin. That is a very conservative dosing but it's more than adequate for me to just function like a man my age should or better, and the hcg improves the chances of a graceful exit if I ever have to come off completely for medical or financial reasons.

You could look at my current blast and assume I'm wreck less, but I put a lot of thought into the stack, the doses, the outline, but I like to think I am as responsible about this as I can be. I think way too many people are way too willing to jump on trt way too soon and not even have an exit strategy. Look at the board right now. If all that shit came crashing down where are you gonna be if you are 3 years into self prescribed trt and suddenly out of test with no idea what's really going on with your health?

I still can't believe that at 22 years old, my doctor said yes to giving me test. I ended up not doing it, but the option is there.

So finding a Dr to give you a script? I have found out here in CA it is all about the money...I say that since all the Doctors "wellness Doctors" do not take insurance and will run labs, give you scripts for almost anything. My previous doctor, not in CA took my insurance and I only had to pay deductibles. So this is my personal experience....I have good insurance, but none of the Doctors out here take insurance that specialize in it.

I ended up staying with my original doctor and have yet to shell out more cash for a doctor in CA. Sucks I have insurance, but the doctors out here do not want to deal with insurance. I believe pellet insertions run $1400 every 4 months out here, and some wellness doctors quoted me $550 up front and $250 membership per month. They show you how to self inject and give you test every month for $250.

you guys seem to forget sometimes that these dr.s work for you and you pay them for there services...There not Gods....There dr.s so ya walk into your Gp and you tell him or her you havnt been feeling right the last dew yewrs and with your research you would like to check you testosterone levels.....If they say anything other than ok sounds good then there fired and ya find a new Dr willing to work with you....

Ive seen so many Dr put peolple on anti depressants wnd other drugs and rufuse to even look at test levels....Me included....Its amazing the difference in a Dr that treats you as a person and a patient there willing to work with and not look down on as if there degree trumps any knowledge you could possibly of found on the internet.....

so its pretty simple if you need hrt and levels are low a good dr will do the right thing.....so get off gewr and go get tested.....its as simple as that to get started.....and if ya rather just walk in with proof then pct and go get your own bloods done wnd if your levels are low tqke them to your GP and go from there...

In Dr's defenses, we are talking about controlled substances and they are watched. Pain clinics, trt, etc if they are deemed to just be giving out drugs they can lose their license they spent 10-12 years getting.

I do agree with you, but so long as the govt feels like deciding what drugs we as consenting adults can have, their will be issues.

My more less bitch or problem is my GP put me on test injections no problem but wont monitor my bloods a/i or rbc ...He said if he has to monitor thise or they get out of hand from the test then we will have to discontinue the hrt...

This is where i moved on to someone willing to worry about the sides and my health...and the new GP actuay said that what this dr djd was redicous and why testosterone has gotten a bad name in the past for older people having issues due to the sides not being monitored and not the drug itself ...

Ive delt with more drs,,surgeons ,,endos,,specialists.etc in the past 7 yrs with my wifes tumor and spine issues and i really have a bad taste in my mouth with 90% of the ignorance we were dealing with...and the disrespect that came with it...

My test levels were low but not low enough. Without my levels being under like 200 my PCP didn't care and I need a referral to see an endo in my area. I went the TRT clinic route. They are great but it is pricey as fawk.

I was thinking about coming off and getting retested with my PCP (it will come back at 0 now LOL) but the problem is I have about 80 lbs of muscle mass on me. I feel funny being built like a bodybuilder and asking a doctor for testosterone.

I thknk it is a dam shame that doctors won't think twice about pumping a teen aged girl full of estrogen/progesterone but even say the T word and it's like a crime.

It is a PED and they don't want to touch it. The red tape and all the bull shit that they have do to comply with the laws. My PCP told me unless she does it on a large scale it isn't worth all of the hassle. Wait until pharmacy tech decides to call and turn you in for using because she's a bitch. Made my life a living hell for months, then I was told that they were only going to give me 2 needles at a time and even had to pick them up and sign for them each and every time. They held my prescription refills for up to 6 weeks knowing that was only for 30 days at a time. I found out since I wouldn't take the little flirt out that she was going to get even. She claimed that I was re-selling it and I was selling needles since my script was for a box of 100. I ended up going to another pharmacy with a new script didn't have a single issue after that.! It can get real stupid real fast....for no reason at all. The tech lost her job, but not until I had to put up with all this s**t .! Hell, it was for a 10ml vial not 500 oxy painkillers...the same script that I had filled there for 5 years. It's funny a woman can walk in and get anything....add the word t for men and all of a sudden we are a second rate drug user.

Most of the doctors around here won't prescribe it , or have anything to do with it.

You were selling the needles? So you got them for like 20 cents each and doubled it to 40 cents for 100% profit? I gotta get in on this racket.

My PCP said my test levels were fine (>300) and my Low T clinic said he was high. Low T clinics (good ones) are very passionte about quality of life and the benefits of "normal" testosterone. If you are under 400 I would suspect they would accept you as a patient. If you are on something now, I would let it clear my system, then find a reputable Low T clinic in your area. I feel 200% better since starting, and the boner.. well, I had forgotten what a real boner was. Peeing in the morning can be VERY challenging :)

Edit: Its funny on the needle thing. WHen I first got my test, I did not get any needles. I knew I could order onlune, but that would take 2 days. I was in a big rush of course. I had just come home from dentist and my face was NUMB (it stayed that way for 5 hours btw.. I think he double dosed me).

I did a couple searches: CVS (im in California) sells syringes. So I walk in and mumble (like a drunk) "I need 100 syringes". The guy was young and shouted back to the pharmacist: "Should I sell this guy syringes?" Everyone in line is looking at me. I am trying to talk but my face wont move.. and then he throws a bag of pins on the counter "DANK DO" and i walk out. I still smile when I think of that...

I was wondering if there was any advice on how to find a doctor that is even willing to do trt? I am in the market to find one but don't really want to go in and be like hey will you give me a perscription.

How did you go about asking the dr? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks
if you have low T you can easily get a script from a TRT doctor. If your T is in range you can get labs after your cycle when your T is at its lowest and that should be a slam dunk.
