Get Shredded!
I have some thinning hair pretty bad and doing what I can to keep it. I have been taking Rogaine for years and just started 1mg a day of finasteride. I wanna get back on cycle and wonder what I can do to mitigate hair loss somewhat. Increase finasteride? Add dutasteride? Thanks

Just be aware both of those have a good chance of giving you long term dick issues.

As in temporary or permanent? Why would it do that, cause of DHT reduction?

There's a boatload of threads here about this. Use the search function in the upper right. This will get you started though:

There's also several threads about keeping/restoring hair.

For what it is worth for me it didn’t make a difference taking it at all. I feel the negatives outway the benefits. I think for most of us if you start to lose your hair you just lose your hair unless you take some expensive drastic measures. Probably not everyone but most of us.

For hair loss prevention you have to take it for very long time and depending on what gear you are on.!it only works with few.

Limp dick is not an option for me so if I go bald so be it.

I have NIZORAL 2% shampoo coming in about 2 weeks or less.
This is a great option for hair thinning or loss. You apply a dime size amount to the scalp and allow it to sit for 5 minutes and then rinse.
This compound helps thicken hair and contrary to popular opinion that it is "impossible", we do see some new hair regrowth.
The 1% you will find in stores is not effective FYI.

It is available via prescription

Alot of people have decent luck with Minoxidil for the Crown of the head.

I'm using the 1% stuff now. It's helped some but not much. Everywhere says to get the 2%.

Who needs Walgreens when you have GYM n Tonic 😆🤣

Finasteride only works with Testosterone. Doesn't work with any other compound. Dutasteride is a stronger version of Finasteride. I take 1 mg of Fin 5 days per week and .5 mg of Dutasteride the other 2 days per week. This works on the frontal hairline.

Minoxidil works on the crown. I used the liquid topical for a year but switched to the pill form a few months ago because the topical causes dandruff and itching. It was intolerable. I was scratching my head like a raped ape.

I use Nizoral shampoo 2-3 times per week. Do not use it daily as it can dry out your scalp.

You can also spend about $100 and get yourself a Microneedle Kit which actually has been proven to work and will last you about 2 years so its actually pretty cheap. My buddy has had good results using his, 15 minutes once a week.

both fina and duta work on the frontal hairline? since dutasteride is stronger, are the side effects worse?

Dutasteride isn’t approved by the FDA for hair loss only BPH. Dutasteride stays in the system longer than finasteride. Finasteride has a half life of around 6 hours vs Dutasteride which has a half life of approximately 5 weeks. Dutasteride is stronger and practically nukes dht which is the reason for most of the side effects associated with both the drugs. Do extensive research before taking either of them.

I’ve tried Finasteride and hated it. Personally I’d prefer a working dick and a bald head over a useless dick and a decent head of hair.

Its best to start with Finasteride and Minoxidil combo. Check out the Microneedle too.

Stay away from Masteron, Tren, Winstrol and Primobolan if you like your hair. Mast and Winny destroyed my hair. A few months ago I opted for a hair transplant. I will post update photos in a couple of weeks. Hair transplants are not cheap, they are not pain free and you look like complete shit for at least 3 months. You don't want to get to that point but up until 2 years ago I had great hair and was too vain to give up on that.

is it better to take these things topically to avoid sides?

how long did it take for mast to wreck ur hair? been running it for a few months.. so far so good.. also, can one just massage the scalp instead of micro-needling?

If Mast hasnt wrecked your hair after a few months, you are probably fine. I did 2 cycles of mast around 400 per week. My wife was the one that noticed the top of my head was thinning since I dont usually pay attention to the top of my head. I looked and was like "holy shit, I have a vald spot." Then I examined my front hairline and saw how thin it was.

Microneedling involves using a pen that has needles that puncture your scalp to promote blood flow and hair regrowth so massaging would not be the same. My buddy's dermatologist recommended it to him and he is a highly respected derm doc who serves on the medical board at UCLA so he's no quack and doesn't sell the pens so he makes no money from recommending them. The pens are about $100 and you get about 2 years use from them so it is a very cheap investment. I went the hair transplant route because I was too far along for microneedling to help me. Once my scalp is healed safely from the transplant, I intend on doing microneedling for maintenance of my hair. In my partying days I would drop $100-$200 a night at clubs so I've wasted money on worse things.
