Get Shredded!
For you guys that knows how to dress and want to look good in a fitted suit, where do you shop? Do you tailor everything?

I’m 6’1 235-240lb, fairly lean, with 18” neck and 32” waist… so yeah, not the easiest to find clothes that fit…

@maxmuscle1 might know?

I don’t own a suit. I have very little need for one. But I have all of my non work clothes tailored. Shorts, chinos, dress shirts, polo shirts etc.
it makes a difference in your appearance.
It’s not expensive, be good to your local tailor/seamstress/dressmaker and they’ll be good to you

Finding someone to tailor your suits to fit well should be easy, or are you looking to have them custom built by a Couturier?

I usually go to Nordstrom or Marios here in Seattle. Any good suit or shirt will need a taylor. Unfortunately they don’t make clothes for fit people. I can’t find a 30/34 jean, or a shirt with 16” neck, 33” arms.

The struggle in real!!!

Yes, you’re right, it’s not hard to find a tailor, I was just hoping to find somewhere I could buy stuff without having to tailor so much.

I bought a suit back in January from The Men's Warehouse. Paid about $600 for a jacket, trousers, two shirts, a belt, two ties, and tailoring.
Yes, that’s pretty standard, problem is that I have a corporate job and use a suit most of the days I work. I was just hoping to find a cheaper/less annoying way to shop clothes.

I’m the other way, I have a corporate job and I’m in a suit most of the days I work. T-shirt and jeans is what I’m looking forward to wear.

I own a few suits but I usually just buy a new one for any events. It’s nice to have a fresh suit to fit your current size. I don’t go to a certain place I look what has good reviews for a fitted suit at the time. But I usually wear shorts or jeans and tshirt all year round.

Unfortunately man, that's the nature of the beast. It all has to be tailored to fit.

I HATE getting business clothes ever since passing 195 lbs at 5'10ish.
Even cheap suits need to be altered so add $200-$300. 🤦🤨
I can buy stuff off the rack but it looks like shit bc I have a 32" waist and im over 250 now.
However, people say Im impressive even in my cheapest regular clothes so thats nice. 😄🤷

I rarely have an occasion. Wife says I clean up nice. The once or twice a year I actually clean up. Easy to find stuff bc even when I dress up its not that serious to me. The best thing they ever did was make those fitted dress shirts for guys with wide shoulders but who arent overweight in the midsection.

The price of these things must be the biggest scam ever. Those in these suits are supposed to be important people, so the mediocre people who want to feel important are going to want to buy those suits.

Pure meaningless elitism.

Show that you are better than others with your talent, strength, morals or intelligence, not with clothes.

Of course, those who are forced by their jobs, well, I'm not pointing the finger at them. I am simply pointing out the stupidity of this humanity.

It costs you more because they have to combine 2 suit jackets to make 1 to fit you. A shoulder to shoulder spread of 98" is like covering a billboard💪

The clothing hierarchy has been going on since the beginning of time. That will never change. As you stated, talent, strength, morals and intelligence, go a lot farther if you are dressed for success. It's a game, sure, but the benefits pay off when you play that game. I wear sweats all day long unless I have to go to a dog and pony show or a company function. Then I dress accordingly.

I guess I’m an idiot. I bought my last one from a little suit shop in the city. Pretty sure my bill for everything was like $1800 and it took like a week to get it back. I’ve always paid out the ass for whatever kind of suit it is. Guess there’s a sucker born every day.

Funny, I was just in a Norstrom’s yesterday trying on sports coats. My suits are just a bit too small and I am at the age of needing something for funerals…but first, a Navy reunion.
They have some with stretch materials and small or no shoulder pads. Perfect! When I get into the XXL or 48 chest shit, they start looking ridiculous. Nordy’s has competent tailors on staff so you can get shit dialed in. The jacket was a Nordstrom’s brand at $249…or 249$ for you folks who prefer a retarded format. So less than $300 with tax and tailoring.

Chick tried to sell me these incredible, stretchy dress shirts but they were $180. Too rich for a guy who has been wearing primarily shorts, flip-flops and free t-shirts for 15 years except for business occasions.

I checked out this website. I put in some info and it guessed my measurements pretty close. My issue is I need a 18” neck or so, sleeves not over 32” and the shirt tail not going to my knees. This site looks promising.
