DOUG'S UNITED WE BULK CYCLE

The body never fails to remind me of my age! I hit the gym Sunday to Legs B and ended up with a small hamstring strain. I had to pull the plug on the day as it was Hamstring focused.
The leg feels better today and I'm planning to try legs again tomorrow. I'll keep weight reasonable and see what we see!
Homeboy sends me an email that day saying he pulled his hamstring. Gave me a heart attack. lol

Glad it's much better!

MORNING WEIGHT 187!!! I haven't been this heavy and not fat since I was in the Sandbox! Max weight then was 206. I know for sure I have no need for that much size anymore so we will see what we see!
Yesterday was make-up day for Monday's UPPER A workout. I feel it went well, all exercises were focused on form and I felt great afterwards. The elbow is coming along nicely and I'm finding my weights and non-antagonizing movements.
Im also seeing Doc today to determine WTH is up with my groin. I have a sneaking feeling he's gonna confirm a hernia. I'm still holding out for a muscle strain... but the burning sensation in the groin when I cough and pain with certain stretches leads me back to hernia... Fun never stops! I will definitely keep you all posted.
The workout pucs are below... sorry I'm such a lazy ass by not typing them out!

We've been upping carbs since the start, and it looks like we found the ceiling for now. Surprised at how much you were able to handle up to now. Let's see how it plays out the rest of the week. Wanted to get cals as high as possible while holding body comp for the future cycle. In a good spot, Doug. Keep me posted on the Doc visit.

I was gone a minute... but I'm back now! Today was the 11 movement upper A workout, complete with MYOs reps on all back movements.
I actually slept really well last night and felt great throughout the workout. I tapped Triceps, biceps, rhomboids, lats and deltoids as well as the chest movements and abdominal stuff.
Work has been brutal as of late so I'm grateful for the next 4 days off to play catch-up. Had an excellent post workout meal of:
Shredded taters, diced onions, 1/2 cup of liquid egg whites, and 4 slices of uncured turkey bacon... shit I even added some salt to help with coaches 2.5Gs a day requirement.
Im chilling for a couple of hours, then it's on to the Cardio.
Coach upped me to 35 minutes a session... doest seem like much till the heart rate hits about 130... then it's wind sucking time! JK, I do enjoy the bike trainer and honestly, it's 60 degrees here in Jersey today. I'm actually thinking of breaking out the backup bike and taking a ride... probably end up on the trainer with the ZWIFT App.
Pics of the workout below.

Annnnnnnd the Cardio is done! 35 minutes on the bike trainer. Still trying to figure why rhe heart rate meter is "reading" but not transmitting the data. I know for sure tue heart rates were easily in the 130, 140 ranges... possibly higher. Im gonna try and reset the HR monitor for my next Cardio session.

Yesterday was check in day with coach. The weight seems to be holding round 182... ish. I had an appointment with Doc this week and now have surgery scheduled for 1 May. The doc is gonna release the 40+ year carpal tunnel and my Ulnar nerve so there's at least 4 weeks of setback... if he doesn't have to physically move the Ulnar nerve around. Ive been losing solid sleep over it as I wake up with numbness from my finger tips to my elbow. I have a great coach @Meetketchup, and I am sure he will have some form of workaround.
The check-in went well and coach upped my carbs to 600Gs away on lift days... can't wait to eat more food and add another middle of the night poop session! 🤔🫨😵‍💫 Coach also added MYOs to all chest this week.
I did the Lower A Quad focused yesterday and felt great.
I took the Hack squats up to 400 and managed the full 8 reps! Fucken love the Hacksquats! I did take prone legs up a few pounds from my last round. I still kept them lighter just as a precaution from the small strain I managed last week.
Today will be the upper B lifts. I wish the gym opened earlier on weekends... they open at 0500 during the week, but 0700 on weekends... and Gym #2 is closed completely on Sundays... its a local church with a pretty decent setup.
In any event yesterday's workout lig is pisted in pics below. Have a great day men!

Yup, we will get a list from the doc on what movements to exclude that would agitate or slow recovery and plan accordingly. We will go heavy on legs in this short period and bring them up.

Did you ever think you'd be slamming 600g of carbs off cycle? :)

LOL... im sure we will come up with a workaround... TBH... I never thought I'd be slamming 600Gs of carbs at any given point... never mind off cycle! HOOYAH

Quick morning check-in. Weight 180.7... IDK what's up with that as I managed 575 out of 600Gs of carbs yesterday! I'm not hungry up on it, just trying to figure the swings as I was 182 and change yesterday, drank 13 glasses of water with all the carbs.... whatever!
Today will be Legs B. Due to work my gym schedule basically rolls around the exercises. I was doing Monday this and we'd that... but now ai just roll out the evolution without regard to the day.
I gave up trying to manipulate my schedule to accommodate the workouts, now i manipulate the workouts to fit the schedule. Is what it is and stressing over it won't help.
In any event, I'll post the workout etc.. later. Have a great day!

Today was Legs B and Hamstring focus! I feel the workout went well... left me with the jelly legs so... yeah. Im working on getting the extra carbs down. I'm at 600g on workout days which requires basically waking up with food in my face! LOL. The protien and fats are pretty well under my control as I've figured out which foods give me the biggest bang for my mouthful. I'm basically killing chickens on a regular! I'd do fish but the old lady loses her shit when I cook it in the house! Menopause boys... its the real enemy of gains!!!
I also managed to get my boss to give me my April schedule so I've essentially laid out my routine in advance and should be able to hit the gym with regularity again.
I reckon that's enough from me... PICS BELOW.

Did some Cardio, I'm calling 20 minutes anyway. I forgot to hit the start ride button and lost a few minutes and some distance. IDK what goes on with my H.R. monitors. I changed out the batteries on both of them and am still having issues. I got one more thing to try before I replace them both. The ride is in the pics below as tracked on STRAVA.

Just a quick food post to keep the thread alive. Yesterday I found an Ecudorian restaurant that sells cerviche regularly. I love this stuff because it's predominantly protein with minimal fat and it doesn't take up a lot of stomach space... which at 600Gs of carbs on a workout day means a lot!

Quick Check-in, morning weight is 184.6! Still drifting upwards despite the work schedule. I've had to switch my days and hence the carbs around. I don't know if the extra carbs days falling in a row as opposed to the breaks in my lift schedule are a factor. Im not worried because it's good foods and I'm hoping the weight is either water from the carbs or muscle.
Today is make-up day for Monday Upper A and ill try and post it later. That's it for now, thx for stopping by.
Get it💪🏽

Yesterday was UPPER A. The wife just can't help herself... I had my log book out tge day before as I was researching my workouts. I left EXACTLY where I could grab it quick... I guess she didn't like the spot and moved it! I didn't realize I grabbed last years log till I got to the gym!
The workout went well despite being undocumented. Today with the proper log book in hand I'm hitting the Legs B Hammies. My gym with the Hack Squat machine is closed for church on Sundays so I'm switching the workout around.
Had my check-in with coach yesterday and we are gonna hold carbs where they are at 600 on lift days and down to 375 on the others. Im actually glad because I'm still working on the food intake! I legit have to wake up early to get the 600Gs of carbs down!
We also discussed my upcoming surgery(ies) as I'm having the 40 year Carpal tunnel relieved, the Ulnar nerve released, and probably a hernia repaired.... hopefully all in the same time period to cut lost time at work and the gym. Coach and I discussed the prudence of starting the cycle back up as I went to TRT for the recomp. I believe we decided to hold till the recovery can support the cycle. I feel this is the best move as starting a cycle for a month... to be out of the gym for any period of time makes little sense.
The workout went well with all movements completed using good form and holds at the stretch points.
Im also fixing to re-up with coach as this has been the most efficient run at the gym since I was a kid.
I'll log yesterday's workout later with today's and post both. Thanks for stopping by.
Some backside shots from check-in yesterday. Don't mind the crappy pises...please!

Looking good man!!

Thanks bro.... I would have to say, this has been an @Meetketchup production!
He’s the man!
No, no, no. I'm just the guy who comes up with plan and tweaks it as we go. You guys do ALL the work! Going to the store, prepping the food, adhering to the diet, training like animals, are consistent day in and day out. THAT is why you are successful. But thank you for the kind words.

I was gonna post pics of yesterday's Legs B workout... but i didn't take a pic yet! Instead I got food pics! I made 2lbs of Cod and Shrimp Cerviche... so that's a couple days worth of pure protien.
I've made cerviche before... but never used Codfish. I have to say it was actually pretty damn good. I forgot the Jalapeños so I added the tiniest amount of Mad Dog 357. If you've never tried this stuff, it's 357,000 Scoville on the scale... if that means nothing to you know that shit is HOTTTTT and Spicey AF. The bottle comes with a legit warning on the label.
Food Pics below, workout pics later tonight or tomorrow.

Off to the gym early today for the Upper B workout. I'll post the couple of workouts from earlier in the week and todays workout later. Morning weight 183.4.

Just a couple quick pics for catch-up purposes. I have another leg workout to post, just have to transcribe it from my old log... due to my old lady and her OCD! LOFL. One is from 3-16 and the others are today's upper B. Had an awesome workout this morning. I dont usually get here this early... i liked it and wish my work schedule had more room for the early starts. Is what it is and we make the best we can of it... HOOYAH!

Wuuuuf what a crappy two days. Pun intended! Did the colonoscopy yesterday and thankfully doc says I'm GTG. The prep... for those who may not have had to endure this right of passage.
The prep started a full 24 hours in advance with a clear liquid diet. The laxative is not a thing to take lightly, be prepared to remain in the house and be advised... no fart is your friend from about an hour after the pills through the next day! I easily dropped 6 lbs of weight.
I wouldn't recommend it, but in a pinch this will dry you right out if you're doing a contest!
I finally ate some real food today, morning weight 177.2. I have to say the muscle definition is noticeable when you get good and dried out and when we finally get to cutting...
I got called into work for half a shift today and I'm hoping to hit the gym afterwards. I will post my missing workouts later as well. Have a great day.

Catch up time! Here's a bunch of workouts I've done since my last posting.
