Hey guys wanted to post something in hopes that someone reads this and maybe finds some motivation to achieve a goal that seems far-fetched. Personally in my 20s I always wanted to be a professional bodybuilder. I put in a lot of hard work but didn’t feel like I had the body type or genetics to achieve that goal. I was too tall and long they said. I didn’t have good genetics for bodybuilding and so on. Funny thing is I gave up after years of hard work and achieving some crazy gains. Life happened and I started having kids and started a great career in IT. I got away from my love of lifting and bodybuilding. I became a shell of what I used to be.
Fast forward 10 years later my wife and I were having marital issues. She actually told me that she was leaving me. We had grown apart and I was being selfish with my personal hobbies. That was a wake-up call for me. I started focusing on us even after we had moved out and lived in separate places. I was determined not to let our marriage crumble. In the meantime I started focusing on health and bodybuilding again. I even got her wanting to workout with me. Next thing we are back together and lifting partners. We struggled for a little while but I’m a firm believer bodybuilding saved our marriage because we loved to workout together and it brought us closer. 3 years later I did my first show after everybody kept telling me I should compete and by coincidence I met Montego1 on this board. Uncle Z picked me for a contest and I got free coaching from Montego. After awhile I told him I wanted to compete. He never questioned me and just mentored me throughout and of course provided top notch coaching. It all came together and we won our next two shows and then North Americans to earn my pro card. My wife decided to compete after my first competition. She got the itch and then hired a Coach. She went on to qualify for nationals and will go for a Pro Card this year. I got to prep with my wife and it was awesome to see her shine. I can’t wait for her to get on stage again. Uncle Z has been consistent throughout my entire bodybuilding career always delivering top notch gear that I can count on. That’s one variable that I know I can count on. Thank you Uncle Z for the support!
Lastly i hope this might inspire someone to not give up. Make it happen! Keep grinding brothers! Here are a few pics of changes I made between my first two shows.
