To further fund other countries and illegals...
The New American Way..
Seriously, we really need to stop paying Taxes..

no talks ever about cutting politicians bennies, they dont even have to serve a full term to get free Cadillac healthcare for life
See... That's the fucken problem.
They dont need help from the government. They're all set financially.

These are the people that should be taken care of first for there service. To protect our country and our freedom that we have. It's hard to understand? I never served, but have great respect for those that have served and sacrificed for this country.

So these politicians expect these vets to return to work? If there's valid proof of disability then there should be no cuts.
AGAIN... They don't.
I wonder how many of THEIR kids were in the service.

Anybody got hurt?
Any of them have to deal with life long physical and mental issues of seeing combat?
Nope.

it appears the whole thing was already handled. So if any of you have ever served you will know that every few years rumors circulate about cutting VA benefits and lowering military pay. It won’t happen. I am 100% disabled through the VA and I make more than the maximum threshold and I just got a pay raise not a reduction. Im glad everyone is passionate about veterans, but this one isn’t worth raising your BP over. I have a lot of experience with the VA and I’m not concerned.

It goes way beyond trying to cut benefits..
It's also trying to take rights away from Vets and disabled people..
Gabriel is an Off-Leash Service Dog,that gets help for me when I pass out.. According to the ADA, I have that right as long as he's "Under Control"..
But.. everytime I go to the courthouse, every Officer has some Bull Shit to say.. Then, the local sheriff told me,they don't enforce those Laws..
The F-ing American Disability Act..??
I had a lot of friends in SF,I trained with that didn't return home..died for the Rights and Freedoms we have..
Taking those rights away..is like spitting on their Graves..
And.. I'm not having It..
He actually told me, I have to eat Shit..
Well.. I just moved out of that County.
Now I'm filing a grievance against him with the ADA..
An elected official is telling disabled vets to eat Shit..!!
Good luck on your next career..Ass Hole..!!

Yeah I’m glad we have a VA that actually fights for vets at the moment. It’s pretty cool people are so pro vet here though….
I've never had dealings with the VA.
But I've had family members that have horror stories.
It would be nice to see the Veterans Administration do what they were supposed to do all along.

Something still needs to be done about the Homeless Vet situation..
Not that other homeless people be neglected either..
But I feel strongly that No Vets should be without a bed to sleep in..
For a fraction of what our Government spends on None American Needs,we can do something better than Nothing..

I’ve been dealing with them for years. It’s crazy because it depends on where you live. When I was in California and near the Marine base it was a nightmare to get anything. Like months for a simple appointment or meds. Now I live in a rural area with less vets and I can get same day appointments, any meds changed over the phone. It’s like night and day and extremely convenient here.

We have a brand new VA hospital here. I live where I retired from the Army, so with the base there’s a lot of vets here.

Good quality care when you can get it but like you said, appointments can take forever. They have been really good about sending my wife and I into the community for care when appointments aren’t readily available though. Also, having TRICARE helps so we do not have to rely exclusively on the VA, although that tends to be another bird of the same feather.

Yeah my wife and kids have CHAMPVA and it’s great. Just regular doctors. No monthly fee and it covers almost everything. And it’s so rural and spread out where I am that the care is great. I could call today at almost 3pm and have an appointment for tomorrow afternoon. They auto fill my prescriptions and I get them in the mail every 90 days like clock work.

when you can get in is right, they built a new clinic in ventura, 4 month wait and no cars in the parking lot WTF is going on, they gave me a list of urgent cares that take VA patients,, might as well just close the place and make it a park

Get Shredded!
Couldn’t a vet get out and apply for disability in their state residency?? If they are truly disabled then no reason to think they won’t get approved….

I am a vet.

Know some vets getting out now and tell me all the guys know to play the game. Claim hearing loss, erectile dysfunction, and even claim old shoulder or knee injuries. Anything they might get away with for even a percentage

If legit? Of course. But scammers are shit.

You are damn right about the location, I am 5 minutes away from a major army installation and it’s hard as hell to get these bastards to schedule anything. Most of my army buddies that live in other places have no problems at all .

There are people who scam the system and fuck them. Because of them it took me almost 20 years to swallow pride and admit i had issues that i should have claimed. I always felt I would be one of them because in most part I function decently. When it comes down to it my ptsd, cancer and asthma are things that happened while or because i was in. The asthma i may have always had.

I dont think in the states eyes im disabled. Honestly i have not checked but the problems dont stop me from a career. I just have issues i deal with to maintain said career.

I read the article off Facebook and from what i gathered it was never anything brought to the table just a committee saying hey this is where you could save money. It happens almost every year.

When I was a 1sg I had a couple PFCs and SPCs getting out of the Army on medical discharges full bullshit like hip problems and shin splints (almost always fat asses) and they’d leave with 100% from the VA. Zero deployments and basically spent their entire enlistment sandbagging and looking like a sloppy sack of hammers in uniform. The docs coach them now and coddle them. They all know exactly what to say in order to get the max. It’s nauseating. We used to call it “green welfare”.

100% rated means you are entitled to 100% va benefits it does not mean youre 100% disabled, and keep in mind someones ratings can add up to165% and be averaged to 90% per VA.
average Joe sees a guys that looks able and hears 100% and thinks people are scamming.
there is a different rating for loss of limbs or physical disabilities

Right. I have a scar across my right cornea. It is ”service connected 0% compensable”.

you’re right. I would be equivalent to like 260% disabled. But I have 3 combat deployments in the infantry and have a ton of injuries. I am now 100% permanent and total disabled. That how they word it. But you can have 4-5 injuries that are each 30% and only be getting 70 percent disability

Kind of agree with you but then we have always had all of the suck it up mentality where going to sick call was frowned upon when you were legitimately injured . Didn’t want to be called a shitbag so drove on for no good reason other than to not be looked down upon by the salty E8 .
