It finally feels like winter. The 40mph wind gusts make it feel a little nippy, but it isn't that bad at the moment. 25⁰ without the wind chill. Supposed to drop to about 15⁰ with a -5⁰ wind chill after sunset.

A woman walked past me a few moments ago on the sidewalk and said, "If it gets any colder I will be able to cut glass with my nipples". 🥶

I'm loving it.

The screwed up part; I am still getting hot and sweating 😓.

I don’t like the cold weather!

All I can think about is how much the heating bills will be next month? Every time the furnace it’s off, it’s only a few minutes and it kicks back on.

I moved up northwest from So Cal. I lived in Riverside and the traffic was a mess and the wife wanted more seasons than just summer and spring. It’s 9 degrees here right now , windchill -10. But I do a lot of winter fishing on my boat for steelhead and summer for salmon, bass, catfish, and walleye. I live one block from the Columbia river. You can’t get any of that in So Cal.
I live 1/2 mile from lake Erie...the walleye capital of the world...you can limit out (6) in just a few hours trolling...I like drift casting with a light weight spinning rod...we also catch steel head in the spring from the river during spawning season...the best is when the perch are biting in the fall...

-22 here, real feel is like -10000000, Wind/blizzard advisory up to 60+mph. All major roads/interstates/highways closed.
Same

Next week highs in the 50’s. Gonna be some gnarly pneumonia round here lol

Off topic but not really. In the Russian war the temps were below freezing so they gave all their soldiers DNP to keep them warm.

Those of you freezing your asses off might benefit from some DeNitros 🤣🤣

I visited my family today and the temps were 10 degrees.. the thing that was crazy was it was 45 and raining and within 2-3 hrs it dropped to 10. So let's say the roads were a sheet of ice. Once I saw it coming we got in the car and got the hell out...the roads were literally a sheet of ice...plows we're putting down salt but those roads may have been the worst I've ever seen.. thankfully I have an all wheel drive SUV w traction control and brand new tires so we were ok.

20 mins down the road and there wasn't even a single flurry or wet/icy roads..

It's like that one area just got devastated...super weird.

Winds at my house right now are brutal...about 1/4 of my town is out of power.

I was thinking about this the other day, about how cold that front must be and how miserable everyone is...

Get Shredded!
Woke up to 9 degrees outside and no power this morning. Was about 54 degrees inside. Power kicked on just a couple minutes into me debating what I’m going to do to survive with no power out in the woods in sub 10 degrees temps.

Man I've been hearing reports from people all morning about frozen pipes, and one other person mentioned through a mutual friend that their heater went and obviously no services are picking up the phones.. absolutely terrible

Yesterday the high temp hit 46 degrees early in the morning. then rained really well for a few hours. I wore shorts to the store lol. At 2pm the temperature started dropping to 31 degrees and started snowing like a bastard for a few hours while the temp plummeted to 12 degrees by 6pm. At 9:45 pm -2 degrees with 40+ mph winds. I thought for sure we were going to lose power. But made it thru unscathed.

I work outside and the coldest we've had, this year, in Vegas is 27 and that hurt. I can do 120 all day long but cold just makes my body ache all day.

High of 29⁰ today. I could seriously enjoy this weather all year long. The wind chill last night was -5⁰. My daughter's Goldendoodle pup was having a great time.

My inlaws are having a few frozen pipe issues. So far all is good in my end though. I would be good if the power went out. Been there and done it before. I also enjoy camping, hunting, and overlanding so no electricity is not an issue for me. I can stay warm and cook.

What a horrible thing to have happen. Are you in an area that doesn't typically get freezing temperatures? I couldn't even imagine trying to locate a plumbing contractor to come out on Christmas Eve.

Brother we get hammered here with the cold, it's a very cold area, but it's right off the water off the ocean. It's absolutely frigid. :(

The weather has warmed to the mid 30s here. I miss the frigid air already.
Same here. We're at a toasty 6°now and snowing. First white Christmas ever for us, so we're stoked!

15-20 degrees the past few days. I don't even know what the windchill was. I haven't dropped my heat past 70 degrees. This months bill is about to be off the hook!

What part of Europe is mid 60’s? Southern Italy? Croatia? Greece?
